Riccardo Voltarelli Trophy 2026

Get ready to run with your feet in the water (or almost!) at the Riccardo Voltarelli Trophy 🏃, a 10K raced from start to finish along the lungomare of Mirto Crosia, on the Ionian coast of Calabria! Flat and fast, this road race at national FIDAL level is the late-summer rendezvous for Calabrian runners 👍.

Here, everything happens with the sea in front of you 🌊: the course runs along the seafront of Mirto Crosia in September’s golden light, carried by the crowd’s cheers — a decidedly Seaside and In the city 🌇 race. Created in memory of Riccardo Voltarelli, the trophy quickly established itself as Cosenza’s only provincial qualifier.

And the area is full of treasures: just nearby, Byzantine Rossano awaits you with its Codex Purpureus (a masterpiece listed by UNESCO) and its famous Amarelli licorice museum 🍬. The perfect way to extend the race with a wonderful cultural and gourmet escape!
