Gorzów Wielkopolski is another strong card in the Samsung City Triathlon series. It’s a city with great sporting traditions, offering athletes a course that’s dynamic, technical, and exceptionally spectacular—especially for spectators, who can follow almost every stage of the competition from the perspective of the revitalized riverside. Swimming with the current of the Warta is the hallmark of this edition. River swimming makes it possible to reach dizzying speeds, but it also requires vigilance at the turnarounds and when exiting the water. The sight of triathletes swimming against the backdrop of Gorzów’s Old Town Bridge is iconic. 🌊🏊♂️
After the battle with the river current and Gorzów’s asphalt, the city offers excellent spots for recovery:
Nadwarciański Boulevard: After the run, don’t rush off right away! It’s the perfect place for some “lounging.” Numerous food and drink spots, beanbags, and a river view let you calmly top up fluids in a great atmosphere. 🍹☀️
Słowianka Sports and Rehabilitation Center: This is one of the best pool complexes in this part of Poland. If your muscles need a proper loosen-up swim or a sauna and jacuzzi session, Słowianka is a must-stop. 🏊♂️🧖♂️
Rose Park (Zenon Bauer Park): Located near the city center, it offers peace and plenty of greenery. Perfect for a calm, restorative walk to bring your heart rate down and take a breather from the sporting buzz. 🌹🌳
The Cathedral and the Old Market Square area: A short walk to the monumental Gorzów cathedral will let you feel the city’s historic vibe. In nearby cafés you’ll find a well-deserved dose of carbohydrates in the form of local baked goods. ⛪🥧
Samsung City Triathlon Gorzów Wielkopolski is an event that perfectly weaves sport into the fabric of a modern city. It’s a challenge that stays in your memory thanks to the energy flowing straight from the Warta river boulevards. 🏁
