The event in a few words

Get your sneakers and your wolfish appetite ready—we’re taking you to Italy’s most delicious and festive race! 🍝 Leave your stopwatch obsession at home; the centuries-old cobblestones of the “Red City” are waiting for you for a huge street party under the arcades.

Head to the stunning Emilia-Romagna region, right in the heart of Bologna 🇮🇹. The cheerful StraBologna program features several routes open to everyone—perfect for working up a sweat in the most friendly atmosphere. Your body won’t have to tackle any impossible mountain passes: the profile is completely flat, but it still calls for good footwork on the city’s old stone slabs 👟.

The urban course launches you into an incredible Renaissance setting, winding directly beneath the city’s famous porticoes, proudly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site 🏛️. Your effort begins magnificently on the vast Piazza Maggiore, dominated by the immense San Petronio Basilica. The historical immersion becomes striking as you pass at the foot of the two leaning medieval towers, Asinelli and Garisenda. You’ll get that amazing feeling of traveling back in time, carried along by the warmth of the ochre façades and the authentic charm of the narrow streets 🌇.

Adrenaline fills the air from the starting gun—not because it’s pure competition, but thanks to the incredible popular enthusiasm! 🌪️ Tens of thousands of participants turn the city center into a true, colorful, joyful human tide. Forget the pressure of results: here, music, marching bands, and camaraderie rule the asphalt from the first to the last kilometer 🎉.

Keep your foodie instincts sharp to do justice to the local gastronomy once your race is over—the city isn’t nicknamed “La Grassa” (The Fat One) for nothing! 🤤 Take your body to a real osteria to devour comforting Tortellini in brodo or tagliatelle with the famous Ragù bolognese. Celebrate this wonderful day by toasting with a glass of sparkling Lambrusco and a few slices of Mortadella 🍷. If you still have a hint of energy left, walk up to the San Luca Sanctuary to digest gently. Switch on the dolce vita and come feel the thrill in Italy! 💥
