Pink, soft, no stopwatch: the Tagada Run has all the qualities of a sweet—except the sugar.
Here, no calories, just tightly tied laces at the stadium in École-Valentin, a small town in the Doubs just north of Besançon 📍. In early October, the Franche-Comté countryside swaps its usual calm for pink bibs 🌸. At this time of year, you can expect cool mornings around 8–10°C and rather gentle autumn light over the Doubs valley 🍂.
Everything starts and finishes at the École-Valentin stadium, the green lung of the town 🌳. The 15 km trail kicks things off mid-morning with two aid stations along the way🥤, followed right after by the “Pétillante” in trail format (8 km, one aid station), and to wrap up, walkers on 8 and 6 km 🏃. The route quickly leaves the stadium to head into the surrounding countryside, between rural paths and woodland edges 🪵, on a rolling, undulating course with a few pick-ups that work the legs a bit and give your calves a nice little tagada tagada, without ever turning into a brute-force test. “La Paisible” (6 km) remains doable with a stroller: here, even the youngest in the family has their place on the start line 👶.
And above all, you forget the stopwatch: this 1st edition is looking for neither records nor rankings, only for people brought together around a cause that matters 🎗️. All profits go to the League Against Cancer, as part of Pink October 💗. One small detail that changes everything: the event’s T-shirt features a drawing by a child from the area, winner of a local contest on the theme “Let’s run together for hope”🎨.
Once you’ve crossed the line, head to Besançon and its Vauban Citadel, listed by UNESCO 🧭. Finish at the table with a slice of Comté and a few slices of Morteau sausage, enough to make you forget the last kilometres 🧀.
So, ready to swap sprinting for good vibes? In early October, in École-Valentin, you leave without pockets full of sweets, but with a slightly lighter heart: you’re not running after a medal—you’re running after hope🎀.
