The Tamuda Bay Eco Triathlon is an event that comes directly from Morocco! ๐ฒ๐ฆ It is an event that combines the three key disciplines of endurance: swimming, cycling, and running! ๐ And of course, as tradition dictates, they are performed in succession. To give participants a wide range of challenges, the event offers 4 races! The first is the "100 km Experience": 2 km of swimming followed by 80 km of cycling and then 18 km of running ๐ช. For the second, we embark on an "Olympic Triathlon": 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling, and 10 km of running. As you guessed, it's the Olympic distance ๐ . Next comes the "Jbala Tri", for those who prefer running over cycling with its 1.5 km of swimming, 35 km of cycling, and 11 km of running โฐ๏ธ. And finally, for the sprinters, there is the "Sprint" : 750 m of swimming, 20 km of cycling, and 5 km of running! ๐โโ๏ธ
Yes, this event remains accessible to all athletes, and that's precisely the goal! Athletes from all over the world come to participate and discover the hidden paradises of northern Morocco, through the Mediterranean and the Rif mountains ๐ป. To situate you on the map: the Tamuda Bay Eco Triathlon is located on the northern coastline, between the town of Fnideq and Martil. These towns are located southeast of the Strait of Gibraltar ๐บ๏ธ. They are home to many local fishermen ๐ฃ. Since March 2010, the city has been repainted in blue and white. Its long promenade is an ideal place to run ๐. An important point to note about TBET: its goal is to make this rendezvous as eco-friendly as possible โป๏ธ. This is achievable thanks to 10 ecological and sustainable measures. Thanks to them, you won't risk marring the beauty of the scenery or region, and you're also contributing to green gestures ๐.
The dates are also ideal. Mid-May, allowing winter temperatures to rise a bit ๐ while avoiding the stifling summer heat ๐ฅต. Moreover, the swimming event will refresh you and get you in shape before hopping on your bike ๐ดโโ๏ธ. The swimming events take place in Tamuda Bay, within the territory of the prefecture of M'diq-Fnideq. After impressing all the fish with your best crawl ๐โโ๏ธ, youโll have to hop on your bike and explore the mountains surrounding Asmir Dam ๐๏ธ. There, honestly, you'll be blown away (only the runners of Jbala Tri pass through the mountains, the other routes follow the coastline). All triathlons have their own characteristics waiting to be discovered! ๐คฉ
