The event in a few words

Running is great, but running while defending a cause is even better! 🌟 This month of October, the Testathlon is making its big comeback. Lyon Sud Hospital 🏥 is mobilizing with the DigestScience Foundation and the hepatogastroenterology department (yes, we dare you to pronounce it on the first try 🥵) to organize a charity race benefiting research into digestive diseases and Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (CIBD) 💙. And they’ve thought of everyone ! Whether you’re here to beat your record or simply to enjoy the atmosphere, several formats await you: a timed 7 km, 14 km, and 21 km, as well as a walk of 5 km. With all that, you’ve got options 😁.

But the Testathlon isn’t just a race! 🏃 All day long, an activity village and awareness area awaits you, with plenty of surprises to help you better understand digestive diseases, meet the people involved in research, and share a friendly moment with participants and their supporters 🫂. Last year, nearly 600 runners came together for this wonderful show of solidarity. In 2026, they’re aiming even higher with an ambitious goal: double the turnout and bring 1,200 participants to the starting line! 🫨

So you can come with your friends, your family, well, as many people as possible, several distances are announced. We start strong with an "almost half-marathon" called "The Big Challenge"—a 21 km Lyon-style version 🔥, in a more-than-pleasant setting! Parc de Parilly will have you going up and down during your race 🏃, so we hope your legs are ready to handle the elevation gain! Otherwise, there’s a 14 km, "The Path of Courage," and you’ll need it for this top-quality challenge 💥. Around Lyon too—it’s always nice. Stopwatch running or just here to enjoy, "The Loop of Hope," 7 km in a nature 🍀 park, it’s always nicer to run surrounded by greenery. Walkers are invited too, a 5 km loop, "The Digestive Stroll," in the southern part of the park, amid trees and open plains! A great way to support the cause in a magnificent setting! 💖 Which company will take home the trophy for solidarity mobilization? ⭐️ Yes, you can come with your company to win the inter-company challenge 💼. Build your team and join the Testathlon race! 💪

A little Paris—that’s exactly how the city of Lyon is defined 🤓. Architecture inspired by the upper bourgeoisie, yes ma’am! 💄 There are must-see monuments to visit, so if you still have energy after your run, go for it! Notre-Dame de Fourvière, of course—this hilltop basilica that overlooks the city with a breathtaking view is a must 😍. And we told you it looks like the capital, so right next door you’ll have the Fourvière Metal Tower. Inspired by the third floor of the Eiffel Tower 🗼, it’s even taller than it: it peaks at 372 m thanks to its legs already being at elevation. Such a cheater…🤭 If you head back down a bit, stop by the neighborhoods of Old Lyon—you can’t get more typical than that! Old buildings, cobblestone streets, local shops 🌾 and above all Lyonnais bouchons on every corner 🤤. Food lovers will be well served 🍛. These legendary little restaurants keep Lyon’s culinary traditions alive, offering a simple menu at affordable prices 🤌. Honestly, what more could you ask for? 😜

So, ready to lace up your sneakers and join the movement? They’re waiting for you with bated breath, because at the Testathlon, every kilometer counts! ⭐️

4 reasons to join this race

Run for a cause 💐
Having a bib is always a treat, but imagine a bib that also makes others happy! Honestly, it’s a win-win ❤️‍🔥. These chronic inflammatory bowel diseases affect more than 300,000 people in France alone 😟, and each year more than 8,000 new cases are recorded. It’s becoming increasingly important for hospitals and for medical progress to be able to carry out useful, effective research. Taking part in this race also means helping all those patients who suffer and the professionals who work every day 🎁.
A city worth the detour 🌆
Lyon, the City of Lights… Full of history and heritage, this city is ready to surprise you 🤩. From wide streets lined with beautiful buildings to small, well-hidden alleyways, you’re bound to love it. Lyon is also packed with must-see monuments, including impressive cathedrals 💥. Like Saint-Jean Cathedral in the Old Lyon district—a mix of Romanesque and Gothic styles—you’ll be won over from the very first moments.
Nature always comes first 🌱
A race out in nature always recharges the batteries 🪫. Fresher air, a pleasant view, and an indescribable calm—no cars and no background noise around you 🤗. Yes, running in Parc de Parilly means no crosswalks and no bikes cutting you off. You’re all set for every kilometer 😛.
An atmosphere that’s more than pleasant 💞
With careful preparation, the race isn’t the only activity. To motivate you even more, stands are planned, with yoga 🧘, DJs, entertainment, food trucks… Plenty to keep you going for after the race, with a truly friendly event! 🎊

A word from the organizer:

"We will be delighted to welcome you to this sporting and solidarity event dedicated to research into digestive diseases. Whether you are a runner, walker, amateur, or supporter, everyone will take part at their own pace and find their place in this day open to all. On site, you will find an awareness village with activities around digestive health, as well as areas to eat and enjoy the moment. The event is intended to be family-friendly and convivial, designed for runners but also for their supporters (because cheering... makes you thirsty and hungry)!"
