Looking for a race that climbs, and not just in the numbers? With The Ascent of Christ the King, in Flanthey, you rise to new heights, both literally and figuratively! ⛰️
The course covers 6.2 km in the heart of the Valais. You run between vineyards and forest, with nature as your backdrop and a lovely view over the valley. The route is short, but it has character, so save a little breath to enjoy the view 🍇.
The youngest runners aren't forgotten either, as there are also kids & juniors courses. So you can come as a family, each at their own pace, and everyone goes home smiling. A great way to pass on the running bug! 👟
Once you cross the line, the effort is behind you and the reward is ahead. As a local guide, here are my tips to extend the day:
• The vineyards of Flanthey: step into a wine cellar for a tasting, it's the best refreshment stop around.
• Sion, a few minutes away: climb a little more up to the castles of Valère and Tourbillon, perched on their hills. You've already got the legs for it 🏰.
• Crans-Montana, up in the heights: enjoy a drink on a terrace facing the Alps, it's a real picture.
• Lake Géronde, near Sierre: a peaceful stroll by the water to gently loosen up your muscles.
So, ready to climb your own little mountain and end the day facing the sunset over the Valais? 🌅
