The Tour de Ormurinn is your bike ride turning into a real Icelandic adventure around Egilsstaðir, in the heart of the East and its landscapes that make you want to push a little harder 🗻.

Here, you ride between lakes, forests and wide-open spaces, with that little end-of-the-world vibe… and the feeling the road was designed for pure enjoyment 🚴‍♂️.

You pick your dose of fun: Ormurinn (Sprint) to treat yourself at high intensity, Ormurinn (Lake loop) to savor every turn along the water, or Hörkutólahringurinn if you want a real tough-guy story to tell (promise, you’ll have to earn it) 💪.

My local guide tip: save a bit of juice to lift your head, because here the panoramas often overtake you… and it would be a shame not to “cycle” them in with your eyes 😉.

After the finish line, stick around: go for a walk at Lagarfljót (the area’s star lake), take a stroll in the Hallormsstadur forest to unwind, head out to Hengifoss for a visual slap in the face, or treat yourself to a relaxing moment at the Vök Baths to end the day like a Viking on vacation 🛁.

And if you’re coming as a couple or with family, it’s a no-brainer: a stroll by the water, an easy little forest hike, then hot chocolate in town while you replay the race… without overdoing it, obviously 🍫.
