The Wałbrzych half marathon is a challenge with a "claw" – the course is officially certified, but due to the city's location in a valley, prepare yourself for solid uphill sections that will test your form before the autumn season 📈. The start and finish are located on the grounds of the amazing Old Mine, giving the event a postindustrial, epic atmosphere 🧱. If 21 km is too much for you, you can opt for the Health Run (10 km), and the day before (on Saturday, September 5), children's races take place🏅.
After battling the course and elevations, Wałbrzych offers regeneration in a truly royal (and mining) style:
✨ Old Mine: Since you'll be there, be sure to explore this unique Science and Art Center. The entrance to the underground and stories from former miners are the best way to understand the soul of this city 👷.
🏰 Książ Castle and Palm House: Just a few kilometers further awaits the third-largest castle in Poland. A walk on the terraces or exotic coffee among palms in Lubiechów is the perfect rest for tired legs 🌴.
🗼 View Tower on Borowa: If your calves somehow demand more, climb the highest peak of the Wałbrzych Mountains. The view from the futuristic tower over the Sudetes is worth every step 🏔️.
🥟 For regeneration: Head to the area around the Market Square for traditional dumplings or visit a restaurant inspired by local legends – be sure to try something hearty that will replenish your energy reserves after the Wałbrzych uphills 🥣!
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
