The event in a few words

Go "babets", go "babets", go baby... Oh we mix quickly, but it goes to show the real love put into this trail! 👟 Furthermore, they didn't do things halfway; their ticket sales open on February 14th... They've thought about helping lovers with gift ideas for Valentine's Day 💝.

Come on, get your sneakers ready, we're taking you to northern Ardèche for a first-ever, that will shake up the Vocance valley! ✨ In September, the village of Villevocance launches its very first race: the Trail des Babets. This charitable event was born from the energy of a team of ultra-dynamic young people, determined to breathe new life into their community ⚡️. The name puzzles you? Rightly so, here we speak the local dialect: a "babet" is simply a pine cone!🌲 And for this inaugural edition, the organization spared no effort with: two trail runs, a walk, and a village at the start, buzzing with activities 🔥.

These young ones are "babètes" (not dumb 😛), for the races, the soul of pine cones is intensely highlighted, they go through all the synonyms 💬. First, there's "La Pomme", the major race of the event 🏃‍♂️. It will be 20 km on the program, well 19.2 km if you want precision, with 652 mD+! 📈 The other route is "La Pigne", 10 km, pardonnnn, 10.04 km and 298 mD+ 💥. We hope your Strava shows the same... 📱 Lastly, the walk named "Le Pignon", indeed, there are a babet of synonyms, or rather a bunch 🤣. This hike will be 7 km, in the heart of the Ardeche forest. The fun part is that during your run, you'll go from one department to the other without realizing it! 😲 Between Loire and Ardèche, you'll wander through beautiful landscapes 🙂‍↔️. Don't forget the shift in viewpoint on the peaks of the Haut-Vivarais or the foothills of the Pilat 🏞️. As for the terrain, it's pure Ardèche trail: terrain ranging from pine needle carpets, small, medium, large babets, hidden roots, and some rocky sections 🪨. Beware of these rocky parts that require staying very vigilant ‼️

But what truly gives this race its special touch is its charitable commitment 💖. By running, you support the association "Cœur de Douceur" based in Saint-Cyr 📍. All members support individuals affected by cancer by offering supportive care and adapted activities 🫂. One more reason not to give up on the slopes! 💛 The day of the event promises to have an exceptional atmosphere thanks to a motivated army of volunteers, eagerly waiting for you to make a masterstroke 👑. Get ready to have supporters reminiscent of a KOP, due to their energy! 📣 On-site, the village of Villevocance transforms into a true epicenter of sport 💪. You'll find numerous activities and stands to keep you amused after giving your all, or even to occupy your supporters, who came to cheer you on 🎊.

To make the most of the region, you're in a place offering treasures ✨. Of course, while you're sweating it out, your companions can enjoy activities at the partner village as well as the narrow lanes or mountains of Villevocance ⛰️. A few kilometers away, there's also the Safari de Peaugres! 🦒 This safari, feasible by car and on foot, is perfect for an outing or an unusual night 🐆. Unless you prefer an aerial visit, in Annonay, aka the city of hot air balloons ✈️. No need to remind you that Ardèche is full of culinary specialties, so here's a list of the essentials! 📋 Caillettes homemade, crique ardéchoise, tomme in salad, the caillé doux de Saint-Félicien and OF COURSE some chestnuts (in all forms) 🌰.

Are you still there? We hope you've got your spot otherwise it'll be babets, uh trouble! 🤓

A few more words

The trail of 20 km and 652 mD+ aka "The Apple", is the flagship course of this event 💛.

We talk about serious things with this route that explores more deeply the reliefs and the nature of Ardèche. Leaving Villevocance, you start strong with a sharp climb, to reach the forest 🌳. After a first common part with "The Pigne" where you head towards Poinas, you will delve into the wild area of Claux.

At km 8.5 it's time for the first well-deserved break, with a good refreshment, where you might meet the runners of the 10 km 🍫. Once you've set off again, the course then takes height, to get some strides in the department of the Loire, offering you passages on the wooded ridges 🌲. To continue well, km 13 will be enlivened by the second refreshment stop 🍎. But there's no time to linger, you came here to run! You will continue with a beautiful view of the valley, from several elevated paths, which will be the reward for your efforts! 🏃‍♀️

Time for the technical descent towards the Road to Annonay🏃‍♀️, to reach the finish arch! Before that, you will end in style, with a passage at the Mer de Glace, a place where two streams meet, for a magnificent landscape ✨.

End of the course, you are back in the heart of Villevocance, ready to celebrate your race! 💛
