In Vimy, running takes on another dimension. On Sunday 4 April 2027, five days before the 110th anniversary of the Canadian assault on the Vimy Ridge, the Trail des Braves links six villages in the Pas-de-Calais for a trail race held under the sign of remembrance 🇨🇦🇫🇷
On the sporting side, everyone charts their own course. The most seasoned take on a 42 km (587 m D+) from Neuville-Saint-Vaast. The intermediate format, a 23 km (405 m D+), starts in Vimy. And a 12 km (202 m D+) sets off from Souchez. Younger runners also have their kids' races. The trails run through former battlefields, from the surroundings of the imposing Canadian National Vimy Memorial to the hill of Notre-Dame-de-Lorette.
Here, every stride has meaning. The field is capped at 3,598 runners, the same number as the Canadian soldiers who fell during the battle. The organization relies on remembrance associations, such as the Commonwealth War Graves. A true Culture & History immersion, amid exceptional monuments.
Bibs are limited for each distance. For a first edition so full of meaning, you'd better be quick on the click 😉
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
