The event in a few words

In Camargue, the Rhône delta offers an extraordinary adventure playground, and Ultra Rando Camargue is the perfect demonstration of it. From Salin-de-Giraud, participants set off on the trail “In the footsteps of Mary Magdalene” to reach Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, a village nestled between the Mediterranean and the lagoons, before taking the same route back in the opposite direction. A demanding self-supported route, with no refreshment stations over the 34 km of each leg, crossing landscapes of dikes and desert-like areas typical of the Camargue Regional Natural Park. This 68 km endurance hike, non-timed, favors personal challenge over competition: here, there is no ranking, just the pleasure of seeing through an uncommon distance. Midway, a refreshment stop awaits walkers at the entrance to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, the capital of the gardian tradition and a major hub of Camargue seaside, before the return to Salin-de-Giraud. A rare rendezvous for anyone who wants to discover Camargue differently, at the pace of their own footsteps.
