Imagine yourself in the heart of Morocco 🇲🇦, where the High Atlas mingles with the Sahara dunes 🏜️. You are in Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert, ready to experience a unique adventure combining sports, adventure, and solidarity 🤝. Yes, that's right, it's the Ultra Trail Relay Morocco! A 103 km challenge, by foot, in relay, or by bike, that will make your heart beat faster than a Bendir 🎶.
You can take on this challenge solo, or share the adventure with friends, family, or even your colleague who runs faster than his shadow 🏃♂️. In solo, you'll tackle the 103 km like a warrior 🦸♀️, but in duo, it's 51 km each. In a team of 4, it's 25 km per person, and if you're in a team of 8, that's 13 little kilometers to swallow like a nice hot cup of mint tea 🍵. Doing the route with others allows you and your teammates to challenge yourselves on tracks of varying lengths depending on your fitness level and desires! 🧞♂️
The organization has thought of everything to make you feel as pampered as possible 💋. Thanks to your bib, they will pick you up at the airport 🛬 like a princess/prince 👸, to take you to your hotel in the center of Ouarzazate, where you'll be accommodated and fed for 5 nights ! Additionally, on the 4th day of your stay, you will go on an excursion 📸. You can take the opportunity to enjoy tea with locals and immerse yourself in the local culture. Ouarzazate and its surroundings are like a cinema set 🎥. Literally: many iconic films have been shot here 🍿. But this time, you are the star ⭐. The route takes you through the majestic plateau of the Skoura Oasis, a paradise at over 1200 m altitude. The race is open to everyone and can be done at any pace. You can obviously go full throttle to seek performance 💥, but you can also walk and admire the palm groves and crossing through this beautiful rocky desert 🏜️. The UTRM was born from the association Endur’Ensemble, which fights to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of sport, even during illness 🤝. The Ultra Trail Relay Morocco is therefore not just a race; it's a cause. Here, every step counts, not just for you, but for all those who fight with courage 🩷.
In the region of Drâa-Tafilalet, where Ouarzazate is located, the temperatures in May are very hot 🌡️. The climate is desert-like but not as dry as the Saharan climate ☀️. The mountains provide a breath of air that will help prevent you from drying out too much during the race! 🌬️ Nonetheless, don't forget to equip yourself accordingly, as you'll obviously need clothes suited to the environment you'll be facing. And above all: remember to hydrate! 💧
We imagine you're already booking your tickets, right? 🎫
Message from the organizer:
"Discover the famous UTRM! With family or friends, whether you are seasoned competitors, cyclists, walkers, hikers or just seeking tranquility, come experience a unique event for a unique cause"
The 103 km trail of the Ultra Trail Relay Morocco is divided into 8 sections, allowing those who come in teams to distribute the different moments of running or cycling. The route accumulates an ascent of 764 mD+ for 716 mD- 🤪.
Already 62 km covered! The toughest phase approaches, but before, a rest area allows you to prepare before tackling section 7 (which is the hardest) where you climb to a summit at 1,311 m altitude ⛰️. This segment is 215 mD+! You'll need to hang in there to reach the last section. Section 8 will take you back to your starting point. Even though its 120 mD+ will seem tough, they are the last ones before you cross the finish line! 🏁
You can also join the adventure by pedaling! 🚴
