Get ready for one of the toughest and most epic bikepacking challenges in Poland! UltraLajkonik is not an ordinary race – it’s a true test of character that takes you through the most demanding and picturesque corners of Małopolska. The event base is usually located in Bartkowa-Posadowa on Lake Rożnów (Stalownik Resort), which guarantees a start and finish surrounded by stunning nature. It’s a self-supported adventure where you, your bike, and endless elevation gain become one🚴♂️⛰️.
You can usually choose from several distances that will satisfy both ambitious amateurs and ultramarathoners with legs of steel: Ultra Lajkonik (approx. 1000 km) – the absolute royal route with a gigantic total ascent (even up to 25,000 m!), designed for real “tough guys”, or shorter routes such as Mini Lajkonik (approx. 250 km) or Lajkonik Road.
After returning from the route, once you’ve conquered the last climb up to Stalownik, Małopolska offers ideal conditions for recovery:
Relax by Lake Rożnów – this is your oasis of calm after the race. You can cool your tired legs in the water or simply rest on the shore, admiring the sunset over the dam🌊.
A visit to Gródek nad Dunajcem – a nearby holiday town where you’ll find great spots for a recovery meal with a view of the “Małopolska Sea” and Monkey Island🏝️.
The Wooden Architecture Route – the race course often runs past historic wooden churches and Eastern Orthodox churches. If you still have the energy for a walk, the area around Bartkowa hides many such gems that will allow you a moment of spiritual calm⛪.
Sądeckie Flavors – after burning thousands of calories on climbs up Prehyba or other peaks, nothing tastes better than local pierogi, kwaśnica, or traditional cheeses from Małopolska hosts🥟🧀. Remember that UltraLajkonik usually takes place around the May Day holiday, which means you can count on the lush greenery of nature waking up to life, but also on fickle mountain weather. Is your bike ready to meet the real Lajkonik? 🏁
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
