The event in a few words

Are you looking for a run that will challenge you in one of the most spectacular landscapes in Poland—and instead of mud will offer the crunch of frozen snow under your feet? The Winter Half Marathon of the Table Mountains (ZPGS) is an absolute legend of winter trail running 🏅! The route of about 21 kilometers usually starts from the charming Pasterka or Karłów and leads through snow-covered, fairytale rock formations. A cult and brutal challenge awaits you here: hundreds of icy stone steps, technical, narrow labyrinths, steep climbs and descents where running crampons are an absolute must. The finish line located right on the summit of Szczeliniec Wielki guarantees emotions you will never forget for the rest of your life 🏁.

Once you proudly run to the very top, pick up your unique medal and drink hot tea in the mountain shelter, the Kłodzko Valley will invite you for some superb winter relaxation:

A winter adventure in a labyrinth with the family: If your legs still have a bit of strength left, be sure to take a walk (at a calm, safe pace!) along the tourist route through Błędne Skały or the nooks around Szczeliniec Wielki itself 🌲. Covered in snow and icy drips, the gigantic rock formations create a winter landscape straight out of “The Chronicles of Narnia” (interestingly, the film was shot in this very area!). For kids, such a walk is pure magic.

Romantic warming up in spa thermal baths for two: After a freezing effort on the trail, there’s nothing better than a proper warm-up for your body. Take your other half to nearby Kudowa-Zdrój or Polanica-Zdrój 💆‍♂️. A visit to the Mineral Water Pump Room, a walk through the Spa Park lit up with winter illuminations, and finally relaxing in saunas and hot thermal pools at the aquapark is the ideal, effortless way to regenerate tired muscles.

Discovering underground secrets: If the weather outside is too harsh, escape underground! Visit the amazing Gold Mine in Złoty Stok or the Kłodzko Fortress 🏰. The underground tourist routes have a constant temperature all year round, and a guided tour is full of humor and history, which is perfect for a laid-back Sunday afternoon.

Sudetes calories for big hunger and frost: Winter running burns calories at an alarming rate, so after the race it’s time for some serious, hot refueling 🤔! In Sudetes inns, be sure to order the local classics: warming, thick kwaśnica or żurek served in bread, baked Kłodzko trout with garlic butter, or filling Silesian dumplings with game goulash and wild mushrooms.

Check the condition of your crampons, pack warm and windproof clothing, charge your headlamp, and report to the start of this winter madness … 🏔️ The rocky labyrinths of the Table Mountains are waiting for your great challenge!
