The event in a few words

If you’re looking for a race that will squeeze the living daylights out of you and test every muscle group, Wisła Extreme Duathlon is a bullseye. This is no “walk in the park” – it’s an event for people who love mountains, elevation gain, and the smell of burnt brake pads. Here, the fight isn’t only against rivals, but above all against yourself and the demanding terrain of the Silesian Beskids ⛰️.

The format of this duathlon is ruthless: you start with a solid mountain run, then hop on the bike (often featuring a serious climb, e.g. up the iconic Salmopolska), and finally finish your legs off with the last running stage.

Wisła, the pearl of the Beskids, is the perfect place for such “extremes”, and after the race it offers plenty of spots for recovery (if you can still walk 😉):

Adam Małysz Ski Jump in Malinka: See up close from what height ski jumpers take off. You can ride the lift to the top to spare your legs after the race and admire the valley panorama 🎿.

Museum of Magical Realism (Ochorowiczówka): For a change from sporting emotions, dive into the surreal world of art. It’s an amazing place that will let your head rest from analyzing heart rate and pace 🎨.

Waterfall in Wisła: A short walk to the highest cascaded waterfall in Wisła is a great way to “walk off” the soreness surrounded by the soothing sound of water 🌊.

Refueling glycogen: Wisła is a kingdom of good food. Kwasnica (sauerkraut soup) with smoked ribs or tray-baked potato cakes with cracklings (pork cracklings) are an absolute must to come back to life after an effort like this 🥣.

Wisła Extreme Duathlon is a race that sticks in your memory for a long time – mainly because of the pain in your calves, but above all because of the incredible satisfaction at the finish line in the very heart of the mountains … ✨ See you at the start in Wisła! 🏁
