Marathons in Germany

The marathons in Germany 🇩🇪, where to begin... Certainly with the biggest one, the Berlin Marathon. One of the most famous races in the world (if not the most famous) 🌟. It is currently one of the 6 “World Marathon Majors,” meaning it's one of the 6 most sought-after marathons in the world 🗺️. Just that. Berlin means: 40,000 participants, a flat and fast course, world records 🏆 (including that of the legend Eliud Kipchoge (2022) at 2:01:09s 🏅) and a finish under the Brandenburg Gate 🏛️ as the conclusion. Legendary!

Speaking of finishes, we have to mention that of the Frankfurt Marathon, in the heart of the Festhalle. This beautiful dome, built in 1907, is now one of the most famous concert halls in Europe 🎸. The course will allow you to discover Frankfurt, from the beautiful Nordend district ♒ to the banks of the Main ♒.

If you wish to run in an atypical city, we recommend the Hamburg Marathon. After a start in the former red-light district of St. Pauli, the course will take you to Speicherstadt, one of the largest warehouse complexes in the world. In addition to this open-air museum, the 30,000 participants will be cheered on by orchestras throughout the race 🥁.

From the beginning, we've been talking about events located in northern Germany, but we cannot overlook the Munich Marathon. Held in October, it offers runners a course that blends modernity and history 📖, crossing iconic locations in the Bavarian capital, including the Olympic Stadium where the finish line is.

Germany 🇩🇪 is indeed a prime destination for marathon runners. We unfortunately cannot list them all, but events such as the Cologne Marathon, the Bremen Marathon, or even the Black Forest Marathon are not to be missed.
