The Golden Trail Series final has delivered its verdict! In the rain of South Korea, the circuit created in 2018 by Salomon wrapped up its season at the Muju Trail, over 28.65 km and 2,313 m of elevation gain. Start and finish at the Muju Deogyusan Resort, with its Jumping Park ski jumps and a fan zone perched at the top, accessible by gondola ⛰️. The course lived up to its promises: runnable over the first few kilometers, then very technical, with descents of steps, rocks and sodden leaves 🌧️.

The winner earned 300 points instead of 200, and up to 330 with the timed segments: the overall standings were completely reshuffled. Among the men, Elhousine Elazzaoui came in third in the rankings, but he attacked from the first climb and never looked back. He won in 2h49'14", taking his fourth victory of the season and a third consecutive title, a record in the history of the circuit 🏆. With 306 points collected at Muju, he finished with 1,130 points, ahead of Patrick Kipngeno (1,128), who came back from far behind in the final kilometers. Philemon Kiriago, the leader before the final, finished 11th and dropped to 3rd place overall (1,075).

Among the women, the race held a surprise. Andrea Kolbeinsdóttir, qualified thanks to a Golden Ticket won at a national race in Australia, won in 3h19'56", for her first victory on the circuit. Mădălina Florea took 2nd place, enough to keep her world title with 1,164 points, ahead of Caroline Kimutai (1,016) and Ruth Gitonga (982) 👑.
