Quebe-what ??? 🧐
We’re taking you to the other side of the Atlantic for an adventure that doesn’t do things by halves! 🇨🇦 The Québec Mega Trail is the ultimate rendezvous for those who love burning calves and a heart pounding out of their chest ❤️🔥. We’ll meet up in July, in the very heart of the province of Québec, between the majestic banks of the St. Lawrence River in the Charlevoix region and the formidable Mont-Sainte-Anne on the Côte de Beaupré 📈. It’s a land of giants—wild and spectacular—where trail takes on an almost mystical dimension 🧟. Here we’re talking roots, rocks, and a level of technicality that would make climbing stairs look like a walk in the park 🌲. The event leveled up by joining the prestigious Golden Trail World Series, drawing the best athletes on the planet 🔥.
Picture yourself at the start in Baie-Saint-Paul, ready to rack up the miles in an atmosphere worthy of the greatest adventure films 🏃. You’ll tackle trails like the Mestachibo, famed for its legendary difficulty 🛡️. We’re not here to sort lentils, but to take on the colossal Mont-Sainte-Anne (MSA for insiders), which the bravest will have to climb almost twice! 🏔️ You’ll also see impressive waterfalls like the one at Jean-Larose 💧. Distance-wise, there’s something for everyone—from budding mini-trail runners on 1 km to extreme warriors on the flagship 135 km 🥵. If you’re up for the Ultimate challenge, the 135 km (6,000 mD+) is waiting for you with its passage through Cap Brûlé and its men’s record held by Xavier St-Cyr in 17:18:05 👑. For those who prefer sunrise over the river, the QMT 80 offers 3,370 mD+ of pure wild trail. The QMT 50, majestic and ultra-competitive, will have you face the MSA twice after surviving the untamable Mestachibo 💪. If you’re chasing speed, the QMT 30 serves up a punchy course with 1,450 mD+, while the QMT 32 offers a condensed, intense version without the Mestachibo section 💨. The QMT 25 (950 mD+) and QMT 15 (420 mD+) courses let you discover the picturesque Jean-Larose River in a calmer setting 🍃. Finally, the QMT 6 is the ideal introduction with its stream crossings, while the QMT 1 gives kids their first big mountain adventure 🧸. Why take on such a journey? 🏆 First, for the prestige: QMT is Canada’s most renowned ultra trail race 🍁. By joining the Salomon world circuit, the event has established itself as a legend where the level is stratospheric 🚀. Then, to tame the famous Mestachibo, this one-of-a-kind trail—so wild and untamable that it’s a rite of passage for any trail runner worthy of the name 🦴.
Once you’ve crossed the line and found your legs again (if they’re still there), enjoy the region! 🔎 You’re on the Côte de Beaupré, so go admire the Montmorency Falls or treat yourself to a well-deserved poutine to restock your calories 🍟. If you’ve still got a bit of energy, local microbreweries are waiting to celebrate your feat with a craft beer 🍺. Québec also means that post-effort way of life—recounting the race with friends and promising to come back next year, because this playground is simply unmatched 🍻.
