Put the pedal to the metal! 🌬️
This year again, the organization of the Nevers Marathon invites you to try your luck on the circuit. "But which circuit?" Well, the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, of course! 🤓 And you surely know it if you're a Formula 1 fan 🏎️, because that's the one where the great Michael Schumacher 🚀 has won 8 races. That's all! But we know not all of us are steering wheel barons like him, and it will take you a few years to join him in the record! 🏆 But enough chatter, because we know your favorite vehicle is the legs 🦵. And you're going to have good opportunities to make them work with the 3 running race distances (42 km, half, and 4 km) and the Ekiden 🇯🇵 that are offered to you. The little pilots are also invited as children's races are also on the program. So you have a rendezvous, you and your shock team in November in Nevers, in the Nièvre, in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Now, zoom 👀 on the race and the marvels you'll see 👇.
As you might have understood, you'll start at the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, where you'll have the privilege to take your first strides in the corners and chicanes of the circuit... Without a single pit stop! 😜 Then, you'll be able to discover the charms of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté 🍷, from the château de Sallay 🏰, adorned with sublime architecture, to the Planchevienne castle (located in the commune of Magny-Cours) passing through those of Fertôt at Gimouille... 🥰 You got it, it's going to be a perfect cocktail 🍸 of history and modernity, tourism and sport 🏋️♀️. You will also pass by the châteaux of the Dukes and Lords of Burgundy and cross the Grand-Bois estate then the Lateral Canal to the Loire to see some greenery 🌱. Moreover, there's a good chance you'll witness the first autumn colors 🍂. Once near the finish, you'll see the city of Nevers, full of cultural, historical, and gastronomic gems. The Loire will also be one of your landmarks. You can't miss it; it's the largest river in France 🇫🇷 and the last wild river. What luck! 🍀
Little clarifications for the two most particular events of the competition: the Ekiden and the LAP. If you don't know, it's completely normal; it's the latest addition! 👶 For the very first time, you'll have the opportunity to prove your worth by trying to smash a record ⏱️. That of the best time to make a lap of the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit🔄. Grab your watch; it's time to heat the tires! 🛞 And regarding the last event, let's give you a little reminder 🐝. The principle is simple: it consists of running the equivalent of a marathon (42.195 km) in a team relay race of six runners🥳. But be careful, choose your teammates wisely, because you won't all be running the same length: the first runner will run 5 km, the second 10 km, the third 5 km, the fourth 10, the fifth 5, and the last 7.195 km. And the little gift 🎁 is that the race takes place entirely on the circuit!
You can then recharge the batteries 🪫 and let the engine cool down by taking the time to taste the nougatine and the Négus of Nevers 😋. So oil up your engine a bit and make a last brake check...
Fully engage in the Nevers Marathon like a Ferrari crashing at full speed! 💨
