The event in a few words

Forget the asphalt and solid ground—here you literally run on the frozen Arctic Ocean. Set off on the wildest adventure of your life in the heart of the pack ice.

This extraordinary challenge has you moving exclusively on ice. The North Pole Marathon, aptly nicknamed the "World's Coolest Marathon", takes you to the legendary geographic North Pole for a completely crazy race. The summer expedition begins with a spectacular voyage through the ice aboard an ultra-modern hybrid icebreaker. The organizers keep the iconic distance of 42.195 km.

The main difficulty is absolutely not the elevation gain, with the course showing a very flat 0 m D+, but rather the extreme weather conditions 😬. Even in the middle of summer, the mercury hovers around below-freezing temperatures, and the terrain is particularly unstable, alternating between powder snow and hard ice. Your thermal gear plays a crucial role in preserving your body heat throughout the effort. Only a few hundred finishers have crossed this finish line since the event was created in 2003, thus inscribing their feat in the prestigious record book. The supervising team keeps a watchful eye on every participant in the middle of this immaculate white desert 😌.

So, ready to brave the bitter cold and claim the holy grail of the extreme runner? 🥶 Pull on your technical layers, strap on your crampons, and come freeze your times at the top of the planet! 😎
