100% Patatas Bravas? Nooo, 100% half Empuriabrava! 🤣 A triathlon in Catalonia, starting from the Costa Brava, in a beautiful place 🤩. Looks like all the criteria are met, don't they? Head to Spain, with a climate more than favorable to compete, especially in May! 🇪🇸 Great weather and sunshine are expected. Just a tip, watch out for the Spanish UV rays, if you're not used to them, they can quickly leave painful marks... 🥵 Anyway, the date is set; you've got an important choice to make. Either embark alone on one of the four triathlon distances, or find an amazing partner for the Half Ironman in relay 👯♀️. And if you don't necessarily want to run, choose the Aquabike. Everything is set: by the seaside, in the heart of the city, and around Castelló d’Empúries Empuriabrava, conclusion: the setting is perfect to smash it! ⏱️
For the triathlons, you have a full menu. 📋 First distance: an S like "Sprint," with 750 m of swimming, 20 km of cycling, and 5 km of running! 🏃♀️ Let's raise the bar a bit with an M like "Olympics", well, the phrase doesn't quite work here… 🙂↔️ But the sequence does: 1.5 km in water, 40 km on your bike, and 10 km of running for the cardio 🔥. Logic follows, an L which is a "Half" thus the flagship distance! 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km on the pedals, and 21 km of running, in other words, a half-marathon! ⭐️ Oh, it does sting after that sequence, that’s for sure. To ease your fear, this Half Ironman can be done in a relay! ✅ Friends, family, colleagues, you will definitely find an athlete to accompany you. You can also choose to do a "short" triathlon: composed of 750 m of swimming, 60 km on your bike, and 10 km of running 💪. We hope you aren't indecisive because we're not done yet, there's another option. If you've been following, we mentioned the "Aquabike". For this one, you'll do 1.9 km of swimming and 90 km of cycling! 🚲 Yes, no running, but still plenty of kilometers!
Well, the time for patatas bravas has finally arrived! 🤪 After a day like that, as they say, after effort, there is comfort. And what rhymes with Spain? 🤔 Well, not much, but what’s for sure is that you’ll be well-rewarded 🎁. Naturally, being on the Costa Brava, you have only one obligation: to swim but to enjoy this time! 🏖️ Once out, take the time to visit the town of Castelló d’Empúries, the former capital of the county of Empúries 📍. Basilica, park, alleyways, you have plenty to delight your eyes 👀. Not far away, you also have Girona, one of the cities with the richest history! It’s only 45 min by car, so a little visit will surely be appreciated. Okay, let’s get to it… The PATATAS BRAVAS! 🥔 Yes, yes, yes, if you’re going to discover the Spanish culture, you might as well experience every aspect 🙌. To have a real good time, it's best to have some tapas. If, on top of that, you eat them by the seaside, you’ll make more than one person jealous… 😋 End your immersion with a xuixo, originating from Girona, this dessert will have you start speaking Spanish 💬.
Well, after all that, unless you’re still indecisive about the distance, we hope your race number is booked! 🎟️
