300 kilometers, Normandy, and you, and you, and you… It’s the race of solitude. You up against nature, up against your strength and your sense of direction. The Archangel Raid is a true human adventure, doable solo or in a team of up to 3. It’s done in total self-sufficiency, at a fairly pleasant time weather-wise since the month of June is relatively mild in this part of France 😁.
For an exceptional race, a start of the same kind. The starting signal is given at Mont Saint-Michel, under the gaze of the statue of the archangel slaying the dragon atop the monument. The 300-kilometer distance is completed in 4 stages and you manage everything: your food and your direction. The route isn’t marked, so you really have to read and understand your compass 🧭! A headlamp is obviously essential for this challenge, because you’ll certainly be brought to run at night 🔦. Nature is waiting for you, with ever-changing landscapes, of course. Soon the paths of the GR223, the long-distance hiking trail linking Honfleur to Mont Saint-Michel, will hold no more secrets for you ! The Archangel Raid is a fight every step of the way, with fabulous sections all the way to the mythical Normandy beaches. You’ll be your only guide to reach the finish. Self-transcendence is the watchword. It will be up to you to show that you can manage your time, your food, your effort, and the vagaries of the route. Everything is there for your warrior spirit to shine through, because it’s not only physical—it’s also mental 💪.
The finish is in La Hague, in the Cotentin, and after such an outpouring of energy, Normandy will know how to reward you among all the cheeses and the region’s vegetables. For a stroll and a good recovery, the Cotentin Peninsula and of course Mont Saint-Michel, one of the treasures of the Hexagon, are unmissable 🏰. Never will you have savored your post-race quite so much.
300 isn’t just a movie—it’s also the distance of one of the most extraordinary events there is ! Ahou ahou ahou ! ⚔️
