The event in a few words
If you dream of running an event that's more like a British adventure film ๐ฌ, a bit like James Bond๐ต๏ธโโ๏ธ, then head to Bath, a charming city nestled in England! ๐ฌ๐ง Without further ado, let us introduce you to the Two Tunnels Railway Race ๐. Yes, you read that right, you'll be running through tunnels, a bit like you're playing Subway Surfer! The event is held several times a year and offers a range of formats: you can choose between 5 km, 10 km, Semi-Marathon, Marathon, and even a 50 km ultra for hardcore runners ๐ธ. The latter is also available as a duo and a relay of 5 (the loop is 10 km to be completed 5 times) ๐ช. There's also the Colourburst of 500m, a burst of colors perfect for families, children, or adults who don't want to grow up ๐คช. The two tunnels you'll run through are: the Combe Down Tunnel, 1.6 km long, and the Devonshire Tunnel, shorter but just as stylish with its 408 meters! ๐โโ๏ธ The Combe Down, in particular, is one of the longest cycle tunnels in the UK, transformed into an immersive corridor for runners โ๏ธ. But you'll quickly realize that you're not just here for these two tunnels (even though they're great), there are other things to see on the routes, including: the Tucking Mill Viaduct ๐, the Sydney Garden, and the Pulteney Bridge, this bridge that looks like a building, with its little shops built in! ๐ค๏ธ Not to mention the times you'll run along the Kennet and Avon Canal, a bit of nature does good too! ๐ณ
But don't think this adventure is limited to just a race. Once your medal is around your neck, that's when Bath shines in all its splendor. This city is a gem ๐คฉ. You can discover The Circus, a circular square with Georgian buildings. Do you like museums? ๐ธ There's the Jane Austen Museum, to explore the world of the most famous English novelist, and the Fashion Museum๐, which traces the history of clothing from the 17th century to today. If you prefer nature, you can climb to the heights of Alexandra Park for breathtaking views of the entire city ๐. And if you're the type who wants to discover the more alternative side of Bath, know that there are many cafes where you can have "tea" in the English style! โ
So there you have it. Whether you're coming to beat your personal record, or just for a little weekend getaway โก, the Two Tunnels Railway Race in Bath is the perfect opportunity to experience a unique moment! ๐
