Corrida do Carnaval
Ready to see all the colors of the rainbow? 🎨 Then welcome to the amazing Corrida Do Carnaval 🦹 race. This vibrant event is held in the charming town of Lousada, not far from Porto. Participants are expected to bring their best smiles as this race promises a friendly moment under the gentle sun of March! 🎊 And yes, you guessed it, a costume is a must because it’s Carnival time… 🤠 You learn something new every day with finishers! 🤓 So grab your sneakers and join us for this fantastic day where you can choose between two distances: 10 km and 6 km 👟. If you prefer to take it slow and savor the moment, the 6 km distance is available as both a run and a walk non-timed ⏱️.
We won't keep you waiting any longer; here's a sneak peek at the program! ☺️ All races start from Avenue Amílcar Neto, right in the heart of Lousada, a delightful little village less than 50 km from Porto 🏘️. This event's concept is about dressing up, having fun while running, and laughing 😁. But if you’re in a competitive mood, that’s fine too 🏆. And while you might not cross the finish line first 🥇, you might just win the costume contest, how cool is that? 🤭 Let's get serious now; the course takes you through narrow streets and the city's outskirts where you’ll encounter some greenery 🍃. Expect to see plenty of supporters 📣 along the route, cheering you on and making you feel like a rock star, so get ready to put on a show 🧑🎤. Whether it’s the 10 km or 6 km race, or the 6 km walk, the most important thing is to come ready to have a great time. You're taking on a challenge, but without the pressure of the clock!
Once you've shed your superhero 🦸♀️, fairy, or Spanish dancer costume, you can don the tourist outfit 🤳. There are plenty of things to do around Lousada, but a must-see is Porto, also known as the "Capital of the North" 🥰. There, you can engage in numerous activities such as visiting the Dom Luis Bridge, the true symbol of the city 🌉. Afterwards, take a cruise on the Douro 🛳️ to discover Porto from a different perspective 👀. And finally, don’t forget the cherry on top—well, not literally a cherry, but the Paste de Nata 🥧. It's the must-try treat in Portugal! 😋 It will give you the sugar rush you need for your next race 🍬.
