Jump into the river, hop on a bike, and finish in one of Europe’s largest city parks! Dublin City Triathlon (DCT) is one of Ireland’s most important and most spectacular multi-discipline events 🏊🚴🏃. Competitors can choose the Olympic distance, sprint, Try-a-Tri, and relay races. The competition starts with a swim in the waters of the River Liffey, and the fast, safe cycling and running courses are set out along closed roads of the monumental Phoenix Park (Phoenix Park).
After crossing the finish line and peeling off your wetsuit, vibrant Dublin offers a perfect mix of history, nature, and that iconic Irish atmosphere! Stay in Phoenix Park and look for the famous free-roaming herd of fallow deer 🦌, then head to the historic city centre near St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the lively Temple Bar district. Visit Dublin Zoo – one of the oldest and most beautiful zoos in Europe, located right within Phoenix Park 🦁. Take a trip to the charming seaside town of Howth for a cliff walk (Howth Cliff Walk) with views of Dublin Bay, or visit the medieval Malahide Castle 🌊🏰.
To round off the day, try the capital’s traditional dish – Dublin Coddle (a hearty stew with sausage, bacon, and potatoes) or fresh seafood. Be sure to celebrate your running-triathlon success with a pint of velvety Guinness at the famous Guinness Storehouse 🍲🍺
