Flag Run 2026

This is one of the happiest and most patriotic runs in the capital, held every year on May 2, on Polish Flag Day! The event takes place in the heart of Żoliborz at Kępa Potocka Park, which for this one day fills up with hundreds of runners dressed in the national colors. It’s a run with a mission – it combines sporting competition with joyful celebration of Polish national symbols in beautiful natural surroundings, right by the Żoliborz canal.

The course runs along the asphalt and concrete paths of Kępa Potocka Park. It’s flat and very fast, though it can be winding, which adds to its dynamism. The start and finish are usually located near the entrance from ul. Krasińskiego and Wybrzeże Gdyńskie. The event is also extremely family-friendly! The youngest can test themselves on shorter distances (from 100 m to 800 m), and the emotions accompanying their starts are often greater than in the main race.

And what to do after the start?

Family Picnic on Kępa: The run is always accompanied by a May long-weekend picnic. After your start, you can spread a blanket on the grass, use the food zone, and enjoy the sunshine in one of Warsaw residents’ favorite places to relax. 🌳🧺

Ice cream at Wilson Square: Only a short walk separates Kępa Potocka Park from the iconic ice-cream shops around Wilson Square. It’s the perfect way to top up calories and cool down after a dynamic run. 🍦☀️

A walk along the Vistula: If your legs need a gentle “cool-down walk,” you can cross to the other side of Wybrzeże Gdyńskie and continue strolling along the Vistula, enjoying the view of the river. 🌊🚶‍♂️

Żoliborz food scene: the district is famous for its atmospheric breakfast spots and cafés. After the run, it’s worth stopping by ul. Mickiewicza or Wojska Polskiego for a well-deserved brunch – local waffles or bagels will have you back on your feet in no time! ☕🥯
