The event in a few words

Salagou-tear that overflows the lake! 💦

Get on your two wheels, the roads and paths of Hérault are yours! 😉To become the hero of GravelMan Salagou, you'll need to reserve your second weekend of April 📆. Yes, yes, your whole weekend, and you'll soon see why 🤫. But first, let's whet your appetite by setting the scene: red lands and volcanic hills 🌋, sunshine and perfect temperatures 🌞, the sea and lakes galore, and above all, lots of kilometers and elevation 😝. The reward will be all the sweeter: the Lac de Salagou with its turquoise blue reflections 😎, a true oasis in the middle of Mars 🔴.

GravelMan takes you on an epic adventure where speed, technique, and contemplation are all part of the package... But for how many kilometers? 5 events are offered, to be tackled on a road bike or gravel: 60 km and 1,000 mD+, 120 km and 2,000 mD+, 200 km and 2,500 mD+, 350 km and 4,500 mD+ and finally the weekend's big boss of 500 km and 6,500 mD+. Now you start to understand why we told you to reserve your two days 😅. The bigger events will take you well over 24 hours! So you'll need to prepare well for your epic as you go autonomously: just you and your bike 🚲. During your journey, whether it's short or long, dotted with stones or covered with asphalt, you'll traverse desert plateaus 🏜️, climb the slopes of the plateau du Guilhaumard and plunge into the valleys that open up towards the Cévennes to the north and the Mediterranean to the south 🤩. The rallying point will be the same for everyone: the Étang de Thau, perfect for racing with the flamingos at the starting gun 🤪.

Now that you've mastered the art of gravel biking (man) 🤓, why not regain the use of your legs (slightly sore 🦵) to explore other activities? 🔍 Before leaving the Étang de Thau, stop by the ravi-thau! 🍽️ And not just any, we're talking about the famous oyster from Étang de Thau characterized by its slight hazelnut taste, it will replenish your lost salt! 🧂 Once refreshed, take advantage of the sun by the sea and nap on the beach 🏖️, you've earned it! If you're still up for exploring, take the car (or the bike 😬) and head to Castelnau-de-Guers 🏰. Not far, you'll also find the city of Montpellier 📍, rich in history! 🤗

At the handlebars, ready, pedal! GravelMan Salagou awaits you for your next adventure 💪.

4 reasons to join this race

Embark on an adventure 🚴
The distances offered by GravelMan are substantial, worthy of a real cycling journey! 🗺️ Moreover, no course reconnaissance is possible as they are not revealed in advance, allowing you to dive into a new adventure with your loyal steed 💪.
Gravel or tarmac 🛣️
Gravel or road, it doesn't matter as long as you're riding! Yes, the GravelMan Salagou events can be done on both road and gravel bikes. Too bad if you thought about skipping the 500 km because you didn't have wide enough tires 😝.
Distances for everyone 👐
Between 60 and 500 kilometers, there is something for everyone to find the suitable distance for their pedal stroke! Be careful, the elevation will also be part of the challenge, ranging from 1,000 mD+ to 6,500 mD+ 🤯. Suffice it to say, you'll need to be well-trained to conquer the GravelMan giant. The other events are more accessible, but still make sure to loosen up (both you and the bike) before the start 🥵.
A precious region 💎
Red lands, volcanic hills... You'll feel like you've been sent to Mars! This small part of Hérault has managed to preserve its unique flora and fauna, adding a charm that could knock you off your bike 🚲. Don't get too distracted by the lakes with turquoise reflections, the basaltic ridges, forgotten vineyards, and wild garrigue... However, GravelMan is also a race for the great contemplators, so enjoy the scenery! 😍
