MHV - Nous dirigeons Hambourg
Set sail for Hamburg for a weekend, where the Hamburgers will gladly trade ferries ⛴️ for sneakers 👟 during the Hamburg Half Marathon (PSD Bank Halbmarathon Hamburg)! After a summer of adventures ☀️, it's time to get back to school 👨🏫. The beautiful German city opens up to the world 🌍 in the month of September for a unique sporting challenge in the largest port city in Germany! 🇩🇪 The event also includes a race for kids! 👧
Want to know more about the course? 🤔 Wait, we'll give you a recap! ➡️ The Hamburg Half is quite known for its flat and fast course ⚡️, beneficial, right? If you want to go for the PB, it's perfect 🏃♀️. During the race, you'll pass through iconic districts of the metropolis, like Wandsbek or Rahlstedtt. Keep your eyes open 👀 to admire the beautiful monuments of the city, such as the Michaeliskirche, the most famous baroque church in Hamburg, with a tower offering a breathtaking view over the whole city 🏙️, or the Speicherstadt, the world's largest complex of red-brick warehouses 🧱, listed by the UNESCO. But not everyone can be Hamburg... With its 2,500 bridges 🌉, Hamburg is the city with the most bridges in Europe (more than London and Venice combined 😲). By the way, fun fact: the German city has 14% green spaces which equates to about 14,000 football fields in total! Impressive ⚽️. Trust me, it's not negligible if you want to catch your breath after those exhilarating 21 km waiting for you 😮💨.
Speaking of catching your breath, how about treating yourself after the race? 🥰 Quench your thirst with a Fritz Kola (the delicious German Cola) 🥤, grab a pretzel 🥨 at the finish line and wander in this beautiful cosmopolitan city 🤩. One of the best ways to discover Hamburg is from the water ⛴️, surprising! Indeed, several cruise itineraries are available to visit the metropolis ☝️. Still on the theme of water, there is even a lake in the city center: the Alster 💧. Quite the trick of the city, rather peaceful and loved by runners with its 7.5 km loop, perfect for Sunday jogs 🏃.
So, ready to take the plunge into the deep end in the land of Hansel & Gretel? 💦 Don't be afraid to get wet and embark on this Half Marathon in Hamburg 🇩🇪.
