This is a unique event dedicated exclusively to women, commemorating Poland’s greatest track-and-field athlete – Irena Szewińska. The run takes place in June in one of the most beautiful settings in the capital – in Łazienki Królewskie and the surrounding area. It’s a 5 km distance that, thanks to its flat, PZLA-certified course, attracts both athletes competing for the Polish Championship and amateurs focused on joyful, female solidarity. 🌹🏃♀️
After crossing the finish line on picturesque Agrykola, it’s time for a royal recovery in the green heart of Warsaw:
Relax in Łazienki Królewskie: The start and finish are right next to the park, so after the run you can stroll along the paths among peacocks and squirrels. A moment of rest on a deck chair by the Old Orangery or by the Chopin monument is the perfect way to calm your pulse in a historic setting. ⛲🦆
Coffee and brunch on the Royal Route: From Agrykola, it’s just a short step to Ujazdowskie Avenue. The local cafés and restaurants offer an elegant atmosphere and a healthy menu—perfect for replenishing energy after the “five.” Freshly squeezed juices and light salads are the standard here. ☕🥗
Brine graduation tower and Ujazdowski Park: Nearby Ujazdowski Park is another oasis of calm. It’s a great place to “walk off” your legs on soft paths, away from street traffic—something your muscles will certainly appreciate. 🌳🌬️
Little Irena Run: If you’re starting with family, it’s worth staying for the kids’ runs. It’s a joyful complement to the event, making the whole afternoon in Warsaw’s city center take on a family, picnic-like vibe. 👦👧🏅
