So that each of your strides becomes providential 💛
It is in Loire-Atlantique, in the heart of the Pays de la Loire region, that a morning like no other is taking shape 💕. In early April, the Parc de Procé in Nantes hosts the Providenti'elles, a charity race where you run first and foremost for others. As for the weather, Nantes likes to hesitate between showers and sunny spells: bring a windbreaker and sunglasses, as Nantes spring loves double features 🌦️. So that everyone can find their place, three ultra-accessible formats are offered: a 5 km walk, as well as two running courses, a 5 km and a 10 km. Forget pure performance and elevation gain (well, you will still climb 38 m D+ over 5 km), because what matters lies elsewhere 💐.
The route unfolds within the Parc de Procé, a true green lung of Nantes covering 12 hectares 🌳. All three courses start together in front of the manor, and the 10 km repeats the 5 km loop twice. The park is home to giant sequoias and Virginia tulip trees, but it is best known for its 18th-century manor 🏰. You run for a good cause, in the heart of the history of Nantes 📍.
The race is driven by a strong cause: the fight against the isolation of women 🧍♀️. In France, 1 in 4 women is said to be affected by loneliness. The Providenti'elles association takes concrete action for their social reintegration ☀️ and donates all registration fees to its shelters 🫂. Here, there is no timing and no ranking: you come for the collective momentum, the mixed-gender spirit and the support for isolated women. No stressful bib either: you pick up your shirt on race day and off you go 🏃♀️. The start is set to music, and the post-race promises to be delicious with a friendly breakfast, in an ultra-friendly village atmosphere 🎉.
Coming to Nantes for the Providenti'elles is also a chance to discover the "City of the Dukes" 🤴. After treading the paths of Procé, go and say hello to the Giant Elephant on the Île de Nantes or stroll through the Bouffay district to rest your legs 🐘. For families, the Jardin des Plantes nicely extends the walk 🚶♀️. For a local touch, a detour to a bakery lets you taste the famous Gâteau Nantais, a reward to be enjoyed in moderation, or not 🍰.
An accessible race, in a beautiful city, to support the cause of thousands of women: it's hard to find a better reason to lace up your sneakers 🎟️.
A word from the organizer:
"Dear runners and walkers, Welcome to the 3rd edition of the Providenti'elles! This race is not just a sporting event: it is a collective surge to break the isolation that affects so many women. By walking or running with us on April 3, 2027 at the Parc de Procé, you concretely support our shelters, those warm and welcoming places where women in difficulty regain connection, confidence and the energy to bounce back. Thank you for being by our side. Together, let's prove that solidarity moves forward at the pace of our steps. See you very soon at the starting line, for a morning full of music, smiles and shared emotions. The Providenti'elles team ❤️"
The 10 km is for those who want to push the effort further: it covers the 5 km loop twice, with a start at 10 a.m. in front of the Manoir de Procé. The course allows you to maintain a steady pace while enjoying the coolness of the park, with a cumulative elevation gain of about 76 mD+ 📈. You'll pass the walkers and runners from the shorter distance, which means plenty of extra encouragement 📣. An ideal distance to test yourself gently on a "double lap" format 🏁.
The 5 km is the perfect format for a good challenge 👟. The course measures exactly 4.92 km and follows the main paths of the park, with a start at 10 a.m. in front of the Manoir de Procé. A small hill at the start wakes you up, then gentle surges punctuate the course, for an elevation gain of about 38 mD+. You loop around the estate, passing close to the manor, on a generally very fast profile. Short and energizing, the whole thing carries you to the finish thanks to the atmosphere along the course 💨.
A 5 km walk on a course accessible to everyone with no technical difficulty: the perfect way to get some fresh air for a good cause 👨👩👧. The start is at 10 a.m. in front of the Manoir de Procé, at the same time as the two races. You make your way along stabilized paths, beneath centuries-old trees, on a loop that's ideal for chatting. The elevation gain remains very slight: the park can be explored at a leisurely pace, with family or friends, and you'll pass the 5 km runners who cheer you on as they go by 🍃. The finish wraps up around a friendly breakfast, open to everyone.
There are no bibs. You pick up your shirt on Saturday, April 3, 2027, before 9:40 a.m., in front of the Manoir de Procé, in the Parc de Procé in Nantes.
The mass start for all three courses (5 km walk, 5 km run and 10 km run) will take place on Saturday, April 3, 2027, at 10 a.m., in front of the Manoir de Procé.
No, it is not required. However, you will need to present a PPS certificate dated less than one year before the date of the race, or a valid sports license.
