Tired of spending all your savings every time you want to participate in a triathlon? Do you just want sport and sweat? 💦 Then come to the Low Triathlon, the rawest of the South-West! See you in September at Ambès, in Gironde, a little piece of nature between river and marsh, a few kilometers from the beautiful city of Bordeaux 😍.
The concept of the Low Triathlon is simple: no frills ❌. If you register for this event, it's for the sporting challenge itself, not for the gifts or refreshments. The organization provides only what's necessary for your safety 🙃. Basically, you're responsible for your own refreshments (with Low water available at least). In terms of distances, you have 4 options. If you're a beginner, you can complete an S triathlon with 750 m of swimming, 20 km of cycling and 5 km of running 🏃. The intermediate distance is the M, with 1,500 m of swimming, 40 km of cycling and 10 km of running 🥵. And finally, for the tough ones, there's the L distance with 1,900 m of swimming, 90 km of cycling and 21 km of running 🤯. And if you want to enjoy a good sporting moment in family, there's the Family Low: 300 m of swimming, 2 km of cycling and 1.5 km of running. The adult swims, the child cycles, and you run together to the finish line! 🥰 Honestly, it's the best way to introduce your kid to effort, without traumatizing them for life 😅. Plus, you can extend your day with a festive evening and friendly atmosphere around a giant barbecue 🍗. Seriously, after a race like that, what more could you want than good barbecues and friends? You can recount your tale of a skipping chain, a missed turn, or an approximate crawl, all while devouring a steak and clinking glasses with your opponents teammates 👯♂️.
And if you still have energy left, stay a while in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The area is full of gems! 🤩 You can explore the Pair-non-Pair cave, one of the oldest decorated caves in the world, or visit the Sainte-Barbe castle 🏰. And if you feel like being a city dweller, put on a polo and head to Bordeaux, only 25 km away. The Place de la Bourse, the Bordeaux clock tower 🔔, the Pey-Berland tower... art, history, and fine wine 🍷 what more could you ask for? And for true food lovers, finish with a Bordelaise steak and one or two cannelés 🥮.
So, are you ready to drain your batteries until you're in low mode? 🪫
