Maira Occitan Trail
If you're feeling down about the back-to-school ๐, we have good news for you! We'll meet you in Dronero, in the heart of Piedmont, in Italy ๐ฎ๐น. Put on your shoes ๐ and get ready for the Maira Occitan Trail, a trail event featuring 2 different courses.
The weekend program includes a marathon distance, a 42 km trail. Hold on tight, as your thighs are going to burn ๐ฅ with 2,650 mD+ ahead of you. If you prefer shorter distances, come challenge yourself on the 19 km trail with its 1,300 mD+ ๐คฏ. The Meja Occitantrail and the Viol Occitantrail each form a loop ๐ and will take you through the valleys of Maira, Unerzio, and Marmora. This is an opportunity to discover the province of Coni with fresh eyes ๐. Nature ๐, forest ๐ฒ, and even city ๐๏ธ converge to give you an unforgettable experience! ๐ซข
As they say, after effort comes comfort! ๐ Enjoy your time in Italy ๐ค to savor local specialties. Piedmont is famous for its risottos, particularly the risotto al barolo, made with Barolo red wine ๐ท, and the truffle risotto. If you're not a rice fan, we recommend trying agnolotti, which are stuffed pasta often filled with meat, vegetables, or cheese, served with a butter and sage sauce ๐ฟ. While you're in the area, take the opportunity to explore the treasures of the region. You could visit the picturesque city of Cuneo, known for its arcades and local markets ๐งบ. If you're here with family, why not visit Lake Ceresole, ideal for picnicking and relaxing by the water's edge? ๐ฃโโ๏ธ
