Dreaming of running in the Land of the Rising Sun? 🌅 Well, here's the perfect opportunity for you! 🫵
The Moriguchi Ecomarathon, located in the stunning city of Moriguchi, in the Osaka Prefecture of Japan 🇯🇵, is a must-attend event for any runner 🏃♂️. This road race takes place in June 🌞 and offers two timed races ⏱️, one for 5 km and another for 10 km. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned runner, you'll have the chance to run along the bike path by the Yodo River 🎣. If you're planning a family day out, there's a 5 km parent-child run 👩👦. The races kick off at 11 a.m., and with just 200 participants in total, you won’t have to worry about overcrowding at the start line 🤓.
With numerous other sports events hosted, especially in the prefectures of Saitama, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Kumamoto (but primarily in Tokyo 🌸), the Ecomarathon positions itself as an eco-conscious 🌳 and socially responsible organization 🎗️. This year, participants can choose to donate to the International Refugee Support Association: Second Harvest Japan. As Japan's first food bank, the organization works to ensure that everyone has access to food 🍲.
If you plan to extend your stay and explore the area, Osaka Prefecture offers numerous attractions for all ages! The Kaiyukan Aquarium is one of the largest in the world, featuring a wide array of marine life 🦈. The Universal Studios Japan were the first to open outside the United States, similar to those in Orlando, and have been introducing exclusive attractions over the years. You'll find anime heroes 🫰 and popular Japanese characters there. If you have only one day to spend in the prefecture and can't decide what to do, why not take a trip to Kyoto, Japan's former capital and a symbolic site of Japanese traditional culture 🎏.
Today, Moriguchi is a historic city dating back to... 1373! 👴 Its unique feature? It forms a “U” shape around the city of Kadoma. In the past, vast lotus fields 🪷 covered the area, but it is now fully urbanized 🏙️.
So, ready to take on the challenge? Warm up, lace up your shoes, and sign up for the Moriguchi Ecomarathon! 🚀
