The event in a few words

Grab your headlamp, charge your batteries, and get ready for a unique evening in the region at the foot of the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory). NN Night Run in Most (Most) is an exceptionally atmospheric stop of the popular Czech night running series, proving that this industrial city has fantastic recreational areas to offer.

The main highlights are the 10 km (Night Run) distance and the charity five (5 km as part of the Avon Běh). The race route very often avoids the city bustle almost entirely, leading around the picturesque Matylda reservoir or through the charming Benedikt recreation complex. Thousands of runners with illuminated headlamps moving through the darkness of the night create a mesmerizing light spectacle reflected on the water’s surface. You can reach Most by car from the Polish border (e.g., from the direction of Zgorzelec or Jakuszyce) in about 1.5 to 2 hours 🚗.

Once you’ve switched off your headlamp and collected your commemorative glow-in-the-dark medal, the city of Most and its immediate surroundings will surprise you with a few absolutely unique attractions for a weekend of relaxation:

Hněvín Castle (Hrad Hněvín): This distinctive replica of a medieval castle rises on a hill right above the city. It’s the perfect spot for a morning walk – from the local viewing tower you’ll get a monumental panorama of the city, the valley, and the Ore Mountains range 🏰.

The church on rails (Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie): An architectural marvel and a true one-of-a-kind on a global scale. In 1975, this Gothic church was moved in its entirety on special rails by a record 841 meters to save it from destruction due to the expanding lignite mine. Visiting this place leaves a huge impression! ⛪

Recovery at Aquadrom Most: Your tired post-race muscles deserve some relaxation. The local water park and wellness center offer thermal pools, saunas, and a relaxation zone where you can perfectly recharge after the night run 🌊.

Czech classics to replenish your calories: northern Czechia is famous for its hearty cuisine. After the run, be sure to drop by a local pub for classic gulaš s knedlíkem (beef goulash) or crispy fried cheese (smažák). Pair it with a mug of regional beer or traditional Czech Kofola to raise a toast to a successful start 🍲🍻.

Switch on your headlamp, feel the unique atmosphere of nighttime Czechia, and let yourself be carried away by the energy of the river of lights during the NN Night Run in Most!
