NN Night Run Olomouc 2026

Ready for classic night running with a headlamp in one of the most beautiful historic cities in the Czech Republic? Although we recently lit this city up with neon lights, NN Night Run Olomouc is a completely different, magical atmosphere. Here, the main director of light is you and thousands of other runners who, with their headlamps switched on, create an incredible, pulsating snake-like river of light along the city’s dark avenues.

Participants can choose the flagship distance 10 km (Night Run) and a fast, charity five (5 km as part of Avon Běh). The route and the race village are usually located in the area of beautiful, historic city parks – Smetanovy sady and the exhibition grounds of Výstaviště Flora. Wide asphalt and gravel paths surrounded by old trees are perfect for fast running, and the cool night air plus the loud cheering at the start/finish give you a huge energy boost.

Once you’ve switched off your headlamp and collected your well-earned, glow-in-the-dark medal, Olomouc invites you for a brilliant, unhurried chillout-style weekend:

An evening or morning walk around Horní náměstí: Olomouc’s main square is stunning at any time of day. See the mighty Baroque Holy Trinity Column (listed by UNESCO) and the unique post-war astronomical clock (Orloj) on the town hall wall. It’s also worth tracking down the carved, mythical fountains scattered throughout the city center 🏛️.

Cathedral Hill and charming alleys: Head to the area around the monumental Neo-Gothic St. Wenceslas Cathedral. The tiny cobbled streets and old defensive walls around it feel like Prague Castle District, but without the overwhelming crowds of tourists 🏰.

Daytime relaxation in the park: It’s worth returning to Smetanovy sady the day after the race. The impressive long lime-tree avenue, the palm house, and cafés hidden among the greenery are the perfect setting for a recovery walk, during which you can proudly parade with your hard-won medal 🌳.

Olomouc tvarůžky and craft beer: Time for iconic Moravian recovery. Visit a local craft brewery (e.g. Svatováclavský pivovar or Pivovar Moritz) and order Olomoucké tvarůžky – famous aged cheeses with an intense aroma, served hot in breadcrumbs or on toast. They pair perfectly with a mug of fresh, unfiltered Czech pilsner 🧀🍻.
