The event in a few words

Take on the challenge in the heart of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park—one of the most scenic corners of Finnish Lapland! NUTS Ylläs Pallas takes place in July, right in the middle of the midnight sun, when the sun doesn’t set even for a moment 🏃☀️. Runners can choose from brutal ultra distances—160 km (from Hetta via Pallas to Ylläs), 100 km and 66 km—as well as shorter routes of 37 km and 15 km. The course runs along open ridgelines of Arctic fells (tunturi), rocky paths, and sandy heaths in some of the чистest air in the world.

After the race and a well-earned recovery in a traditional sauna, the Lapland summer offers incredible space to unwind: Climb to the top of Taivaskero (the highest point of Pallas), where in 1952 a symbolic Olympic flame was lit ahead of the Helsinki Games 🏔️.With your family, take the gondola up to the summit of Ylläs or visit the Kellokas nature centre to learn about the region’s history and Sámi culture 🚡.And then head out on a trip to Jerisjärvi Lake to the Arctic Sauna World complex for relaxing sauna baths, followed by a short hike up Särkitunturi —a hill famed for its crystalline tarn right at the very top 🌅.

To round out the day, try a warming salmon soup (Lohikeitto), enjoy the traditional Leipäjuusto cheese served warm with cloudberry jam (Lakka), and fuel up with stewed reindeer meat with mash and bilberries 🐟🧀
