The event in a few words

Come warm up your legs al dente ๐ŸคŒ in the heart of the Italian Dolomites ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น by running the Primiero Dolomiti Marathon. In July, you'll find yourself in the beautiful region of Trentino-Alto Adige, specifically in Fiera di Primiero, at the foot of the majestic Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site ๐ŸŒ.

Welcome to the Paneveggio Natural Park, where the Primiero Dolomiti Marathon takes place. Between pine forests, lush alpine pastures, lakes of mountains, and picturesque villages, this race has everything of an Italian film... ๐ŸŽฌ. Here, you don't need to be a climbing expert or an incline disciple. Whether you're a weekend trail runner, a seasoned mountaineer, or just a lover of the great outdoors, there's a distance for you ๐Ÿซต. The star of the program? โญ๏ธ It's definitely the main event, the 42 km with its 1,242 mD+ and 1,543 mD- (mama miaaa ๐Ÿฅต). The start is at the majestic Villa Welsperg in the Canali Valley. You set off through the meadows ๐ŸŒฟ, gain some altitude towards the Piereni plateau, then cross authentic hamlets, encounter local cows ๐Ÿฎ, follow forest paths, and climb (gently but surely) up to the Calaita Lake, perched at 1,600 m altitude ๐Ÿ”. Prefer a lighter version (but just as beautiful)? ๐Ÿ˜Ž The 26 km, with its 448 mD+ and 1,198 mD-, offers you a gentle descent from San Martino di Castrozza, a true high altitude tourist gem ๐Ÿ˜. You also pass by Malga Crel and the famous Lago di Calaita, then dive into the Lozen Valley, finishing with a fanfare ๐ŸŽบ. It's the perfect combo for those who want to feast their eyes (and thighs ๐Ÿ’ฅ). Not thrilled? We have shorter but equally charming options! The 16 km starts from Zortea, a small village nestled in the Vanoi Valley, then takes you up 389 mD+ to the typical local hamlets ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ before joining the other routes. In summary: it's short, it's beautiful, and it's good for the morale ๐Ÿ˜. And if you just want to taste the atmosphere without straining your legs, choose the 6.5 km with 267 mD+. A lovely sporting walk that smells of nature and fresh herbs, perfect for a first time ๐Ÿƒ.

Between us, the best part of the Primiero Dolomiti Marathon is what awaits you after the race ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Because once your race bib is stored and your shoes placed, the adventure continues dolce vita style! ๐Ÿ• Start by recharging in the calm streets of Fiera di Primiero ๐ŸŒž. Then go explore the village of Mezzano, ranked among the most beautiful in Italy, or Siror, an alpine town worthy of a postcard ๐Ÿ“ฉ. On the culture side, donโ€™t miss the Palazzo delle Miniere ๐Ÿฐ. If you fancy some freshness, head to the Val Venegia Park, a green haven perfect for a walk or a picnic ๐Ÿงบ. And of course, donโ€™t return without tasting the local specialties: steamy polenta, mountain charcuterie, apple strudel ๐ŸŽ or casunziei ๐ŸฅŸ. After all, youโ€™ve earned it!

When your legs start to stiffen on the ascents, youโ€™ll know youโ€™ve reached the right level of doneness: al dente ๐Ÿคค. So, ready to tackle the Dolomites' elevation? ๐Ÿ”๏ธ

4 reasons to join this race

The variety of trails ๐Ÿค
Whether you're a marathon gourmet, a 26 km enthusiast, or a lover of leisurely nature walks, you'll find your dose of adrenaline โšก๏ธ. We're sure the raw courses of this race will win you over ๐Ÿ˜.
To challenge yourself a bit ๐Ÿ˜ˆ
Running in such a massif is no walk in the park โŒ. If you decide to tackle the 42 km, get ready to tackle the elevation ๐Ÿ’ฅ. It's tough, it's long, but you'll be proud of yourself (and so will we) ๐Ÿ™Œ.
A postcard version of a trail ๐Ÿคฉ
Let's talk about the courses! You're not just running, you're exploring a setting that will make you feel tiny ๐Ÿง. The Dolomites, the alpine pastures, the chalets, the rivers... everything's here to make you roar with pleasure ๐Ÿ”ฅ.
Italy on the plate (and in the heart) โค๏ธ
If there's one perfect spot for post-race, this is it ๐Ÿซต. Cheese ๐Ÿง€, meats ๐Ÿฅ“, pasta ๐Ÿ, wine ๐Ÿท... we promise you a 5-star recovery โญ๏ธ.
