The event in a few words

Are you good at negotiation? ๐Ÿ˜Ž Well, because Rambouillet offers you an unbeatable deal: 7 km of city to warm up your calves, then 14 km of forest to reinvigorate you! ๐ŸŒฒ Added up, that equals 21 km and therefore a half-marathon! ๐Ÿƒ You win in any case ๐Ÿ˜‰.

Organized by the Rambouillet Olympique, this 38th edition of the Rambouillet Half-Marathon is not a vintage like any other. It is THE departmental championship of the Yvelines, and as a bonus, a possible qualification for the French Championships ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท. In other words, if you have legs and ambition, you are in the right place ๐Ÿ†. March in รŽle-de-France is a time when it's neither too cold nor too hot. Just right for setting a record you'll be proud of ๐Ÿคฉ, without ending up like a cooked shrimp ๐Ÿฆ. And running in the forest at the start of spring ๐ŸŒธ, when everything is budding and the air smells of nature waking up... It's therapeutic, almost zen! ๐Ÿง˜ Well, zen up to km 15, after that itโ€™s each for their own ๐Ÿ˜‚. The cool thing is that March is just when you're coming out of your winter training ๐Ÿฅถ: you've worked hard during the cold months โ„๏ธ, and now you can finally show what youโ€™re made of!

The course concept? Simple but effective. You start from the city center of Rambouillet ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ, cross the streets with the chateau as your view ๐Ÿฐ, and then bam! Head to the forest on smooth roads and bike paths ๐Ÿšฒ. No treacherous roots, no mud up to your knees, just a good surface where your legs can turn freely ๐Ÿ˜Œ. You'll also have a brief relaxing moment (or not) skirting the ร‰tang d'Or. This half is the kind of course where you can really focus on your performance without having to worry if you'll fall at the next corner ๐Ÿคซ. The route is smooth, meticulously marked ๐Ÿง…, and the transitions between city and forest are seamless. You transition from the cheers of the crowd ๐Ÿ‘ to the song of birds without even realizing it ๐Ÿฆ. Regarding the atmosphere, with a maximum of 3,000 runners, it's dense enough to be motivating but not chaotic ๐Ÿš™. You feel the excitement of the departmental championship without elbowing your way through 21 km.

The race is also open to people with disabilities ๐Ÿ’ช. Yes, inclusion is important here ๐Ÿซถ. Guides for visually impaired people can also participate at no additional cost.

Once you've crossed the finish line ๐Ÿ (and regained the use of your legs ๐Ÿฆต), Rambouillet has plenty to offer. The chateau and its park are royal (literally) ๐Ÿ‘‘. A little historical tidbit: Louis XVI liked this place so much that he came here to hunt regularly. Well, you're hunting for a personal best โฑ๏ธ rather than a stag, but the idea is the same: you come to Rambouillet to enjoy yourself! ๐ŸฆŒ You can also visit the national sheepfold if you're an animal lover ๐Ÿ‘ or the ร‰tang d'Or for a pleasant walk that will do your calves good (or your stomach if you're digesting ๐Ÿ˜œ). Speaking of food, there are plenty of options to suit your taste ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ. Local restaurateurs ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿณ know well about hungry runners! ๐Ÿคค There are also a few local specialties: the Rambolitain ๐Ÿฐ, a pastry to die for or the Yolin, a crustless quiche ๐Ÿฅง with flavors that will enhance your stay. You'll also find a lovely array of cheeses, such as the Mesnil Camembert ๐Ÿง€. Plus, Rambouillet is barely 50 minutes from Paris by train, making it easily accessible for a hassle-free sporty weekend ๐Ÿš„.

So, are you up for a royal half? ๐Ÿคด

4 reasons to join this race

The city-forest mix that changes everything ๐ŸŒณ
1/3 urban for the atmosphere and cheers, 2/3 in the forest to recharge in the midst of flora and fauna. You have the best of both worlds without choosing! Few half-marathons offer these two atmospheres in one race ๐Ÿ‘Œ.
A race that truly matters ๐Ÿ†
Yvelines Departmental Championship and qualifying for the French Championships, no less! Even if youโ€™re not aiming for the podium, running in a competitive atmosphere supercharges your motivation. Plus, the race is open to people with disabilities! ๐Ÿ’ช
The perfect timing in March ๐Ÿ“…
No summer heatwave or polar cold of January. March is the rebirth, the ideal temperatures for performance, and the forest beginning to turn green. You run in the best conditions, period ๐Ÿคฉ.
3,000 runners max, perfect atmosphere ๐Ÿ‘ฅ
Enough people to keep the pace and excitement, but not the crowd of the Paris Marathon. You can run without zig-zagging between 40,000 people. And the spots sell out fast, so you join an exclusive club! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
