Ah… Paris ! 🤤 The French capital has nothing left to prove when it comes to charm and romance ♥️. But what if we set aside the leisurely strolls along the Seine for something with a bit more bite? The Tempo Urban Trail - La Villette 🤌 is taking you on an adventure like no other! It’s next February, after nightfall 🌙, that you’ll have the chance to run this totally atypical urban race, in the heart of one of Europe’s most iconic and futuristic parks 🇪🇺. Alright, enough chit-chat—it’s time to tell you everything about this night route, its specifics, and its landmarks 👇.
Before we start, we suggest you switch on your headlamp 🔦. Because yes, the start is at 6:00 p.m.! The atmosphere promises to be completely wild 😝 between the city’s light shows and the runners’ beams. If you take a look at the concept, you’ll see this urban trail is focused in and around the famous Parc de la Villette, in Paris’ 19th arrondissement 📍. That makes things easy for supporters 📣 who want to follow you or cheer you on between two iconic spots! Metro entrances 🚇 serve the area perfectly, so call your friends and family—they’ll be able to wait for you with a mulled wine* 🍷 at the finish!
The Tempo Urban Trail offers a 9 km course. Does that sound short to you? Think again! 👉 This format is ideal for getting back into the swing of things at the start of the year, with constant pace changes, steps to climb, footbridges to cross over the Canal de l'Ourcq 🌊, and punchy accelerations. You’ll have to juggle surfaces: asphalt, cobblestones, grass, and stairs 🪜. The lack of major elevation gain is made up for by the technicality of the urban environment. You’ll be in for an eyeful 😍 in front of the sparkling Géode or the majestic Philharmonie de Paris 🎶.
You’ll also see the event is extremely friendly! A great atmosphere 🥳 will accompany you along the route, fueled by a crowd of curious onlookers and running enthusiasts. No doubt this general buzz in the heart of northeast Paris will give you the energy you need to push yourself… and live one of your best night-running experiences! 🫶
To unwind after your race, we suggest you enjoy the bars and restaurants along the canal or head straight to warm up with a good fondue or some great Parisian tapas 🧀. You’ll leave with stars in your eyes (and all over your headlamp)! 🤤
Come and turn up the tempo in the 19th 🏃♀️
(⚠️ Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health; consume in moderation.)
Bib pickup will generally take place at the race village (Parc de la Villette) on event day, a few hours before the start. Don’t forget to bring your ID and your registration QR code! Don’t wait too long to come get it—there might be a lot of people. 😉
Oh yes! It’s an night urban trail! Even though Paris is the City of Light and Parc de la Villette is lit up, there are shadowy areas, stairs, and accelerations. Your headlamp is therefore mandatory to ensure your safety (and everyone else’s). Remember to check your batteries before the start! 🔋
Yes. In accordance with current regulations, participants must provide a valid PPS or a sports license accepted by the organization.
Of course! A free bag drop will be available to runners at the race village. You can leave your closed sports bag there to run light and pick up your warm stuff right after crossing the finish line. 🧥
On a punchy 9 km format, there’s generally no aid station on the course so you can go full throttle! On the other hand, a great post-race refreshment station will be waiting for you at the finish with water, sweet and savory options to recharge after the effort. 😋
The easiest way is public transport! Parc de la Villette (Paris’ 19th arrondissement) is very well connected. You can get there via line 5 (Porte de Pantin stop) or line 7 (Porte de la Villette stop), or by tram (T3b). Leave the car in the garage—the planet (and your travel time) will thank you! 🌱
A next-gen platform helping sports enthusiasts of all levels discover territories and heritage through races tailored to them.
