Urban trails

In the Urban Trail (also called city trail), the race takes place in the city's environment. A unique opportunity to discover cities from a new perspective, with a different view. Running is a wonderful way to discover the Earth. Practicing urban trail means rediscovering the city, its landscapes, its settings... To you, stairs, parks, streets, monuments, and other city markers! 🏘

If Lyon is the capital of Lights, it is also the capital of Urban Trail 🚩. Since 2007, it has offered its rich environment to the Lyon Urban Trail, the first event organized in Europe. Like trail running, urban trail offers routes that mix flat sections with climbs, descents, and more or less technical passages… 🤩 Pavement is of course part of it, but you will also have the opportunity to run on dirt paths, the cobblestones of old towns, or even sometimes on sand 🌊 (for urban trails by the seaside)… Balance, agility, and power are required, along with strong legs! Urban trail will allow you to make the city your own by crossing sometimes secret places 🤫. Summer or winter; day or night, you can also see it in new colors... 🎨

Urban trails are not necessarily standardized in terms of distances, choose the one that motivates you 🕺. Few courses exceed 30 kilometers. Despite the youth of Urban Trail, proposals are not lacking, and the calendar of urban trails in France grows year after year 📆. You will be able to test your headlamp at the Trail Urbain de Fougères (Brittany) or at the Lyon Urban Trail (LUT for insiders). Among the classics, let’s mention the Saumurban Trail, the Rennes Urban Trail, the Urban Trail of Lille or that of Cannes. In Bastia, you can discover rehabilitated neighborhoods with the Spassighjata. You will also find the Urban Trail of Cergy Pontoise. The soccer enthusiasts ⚽️, and we know there are many here, will be able to tread the mythical ground of the Vélodrome by participating in the race Orange Vélodrome Trail.
