Existential question: why stay in bed when the Solidarity Run of the 19th can offer you the most stylish wake-up in Paris? ๐๏ธ
The Buttes Chaumont are waiting for you for an animated morning! ๐ข On the agenda: hills, century-old trees, and a good morning sweat in the fresh Parisian air! ๐จ (that you'll surely appreciate more than armpit odors in the metro) ๐. Head to the 19th district of Paris๐ผ for an event that truly smells of solidarity ๐คฒ. In mid-October, while others are still lounging in pajamas, you'll surely be scrambling through the park's paths ๐. No more excuses for staying glued to your couch ๐๏ธ, the Solidarity Run of the 19th will push you out of your comfort zone.
This civic race offers you two distances: a 10 km run as we love it ๐ and a 5 km nordic walk! The entrance will be on the Town Hall of the 19th side, and the courses will be fully marked on the ground. No need to play Hansel and Gretel, save your breadcrumbs to make stuffed tomatoes ๐ for your post-race feast ๐ฒ. The courses will take place from A to Z in the Buttes Chaumont park ๐ฒ, so if you find yourself in Pantin, something is wrong. You will (re)discover this park from a sporty angle: winding paths, waterfalls, the temple of the Sibyl perched on its rock ๐ชจ, and its suspended bridges ๐. Prepare for some nice climbs as the park is not as flat as a pancake ๐ฅ, which is what makes this challenge fun! ๐ช Plus, good news, the race is open to men, women, and youths from 16 years old with parental permission if they are minors ๐งโ๐งโ๐ง.
This race holds special significance as it is organized by the CIITS (Interprofessional and Inter-associative Coordination of Social Work) ๐ค. By participating, you directly contribute to the funding of local social actions: family support, aid for young people in difficulty, activities for seniors, tutoring... In short, your registration doesn't just pay for the cups! ๐ฅค Every kilometer helps maintain these essential local services for the residents of the 19th. Useful sport indeed! โค๏ธ
Take advantage of the weekend to explore this 19th arrondissement full of surprises! Head to the Bassin de la Villette for a stroll by the water ๐ค, or the Parc de la Villette with its cultural and recreational facilities like the Citรฉ des Sciences et de l'Industrie. You can also discover the streets of Belleville with their colorful street art murals ๐จ, stroll along the banks of the Canal Saint-Martin nearby ๐ถ, or learn at the Museum of Music! And for a tasteful reward, head to the local bistros: a good Parisian steak and fries ๐ฅฉ (you've earned it!), a traditional croque-monsieur with creamy bรฉchamel ๐ง, or a pastry in an artisan bakery in the neighborhood ๐ฅ. All accompanied by a strong Parisian coffee โ!
The only question is: which route will you take? โฑ๏ธ
