Come on, let yourself be taken, in the month of May, we're taking you to the southeast of Belgium 🇧🇪, near the French border 🇫🇷. You'll lace up in Virton, in the region of Wallonia, for a well-placed trail weekend! 😜 The Virton Urban Trail is waiting for you and your friends for a spring race offering two distances: an 8 km track and a 16 km one. These two distances are accessible to the largest number 🙌 and offer you a true urban exploration 🏙️.
An urban trail, is always a special event, it's the perfect balance between sports and tourism to discover the city from a different angle 😍. With this event, you'll discover the capital of Gaume, a cultural territory where people speak... Gaumais! 😅 It is indeed a cultural region with a long history to discover during your weekend. Virton is renowned for its charm, so you will not be disappointed by the trip ☺️. The race will take you to discover all the secrets of Virton: the Saint-Laurent church ⛪️, the old city's lanes and passages, "Little Montmartre", Parc Foncin and its small castle 🏰, the historic center... With the Virton Urban Trail, the city will hold no secrets from you 🤫. And get ready, because an urban trail requires strong legs, with all these stairs, sidewalks, changes in direction... 🛣️
If you don't know the south of Belgium 🌞, near Luxembourg, reserve a little piece of your weekend to discover this territory. Remember that Wallonia is French-speaking 🗣️. No need to bring your English 🏴 or Flemish dictionary. The region is very green, so you'll take a deep breath of fresh air 🫁. Many forests surround Virton, including the Valais de Rabais 🌳, its attractions (the Path of Dreams, the Path of Fairies, the Bayard Path, the Fairy Hole) and its many hiking trails.. If Bruges and Brussels might be a bit far this time, Liège is only an hour away from Virton. Once a principality, the city's prestige remains significant, and its cultural heritage will delight you 🖼️. And one thing is notable: the flat country is not so flat after all! 📏 On the gastronomy side, don't leave without tasting the local specialties 📍. Between the famous Orval cheese 🧀, Gaumais pâté, and the sausisson gaumais, your weekend will be as rich physically 🏃 as it is gustatorily 👅.
So, ready to jump on the bandwagon? 🚂
