Need a shot of adrena'Line?
In the month of June, head to Bressolles, a small town in the south of 'Ain, in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 🏔️. The Line Association is organizing nothing less than its 10th edition of committed racing for the benefit of sick children and those with disabilities 👧. Multiple events are offered: children's courses, hiking routes, and running courses 🏃. Regardless of your physical level, you can put your legs to work for those who need it most 😉. In addition, our favorite city dwellers won't feel out of place since the town is only about forty minutes from the capital of the Gauls 🚗. For that matter, if you want to make the physical challenge even tougher, don't hesitate to get there on 2 wheels 😈. Easily accessible and marked by solidarity, The Bressol’line is the race you need at the start of summer ☀️.
Halfway between running and conviviality, it's the regional event not to miss 😎. Competitors will find their place with 4 timed events in running and hiking 🥾. Those who came ready to compete will find their happiness on the 20 km trail. Starting from the Bressolles multipurpose hall, you'll embark on an adventure of over 2 hours (on average) and some 248 mD+ 📈. In short, enough elevation to make your legs burn, but not too much to prevent you from completing the race 💪. In the month of June, you will be a finisher, that's for sure 🏆. Afterwards, a 10 km and a 12 km run are offered to you. With routes that are barely paved and very wooded 🌳, you'll have the opportunity to alternate between intense effort and sprinkled stimulus. If you're into active walking and performance searching, line up for the 12 km hike. This timed course allows you to compete without the obligation to start at the pace of an enraged jaguar 🐆. Lastly, for children and adults looking for a good time, there's the option of the 8 km walk or the adorable "Randolinette." Untimed, these two events allow you to chat 🗣️, have a snack, and even take a nap on the road if you feel like it 🥱. No one will blame you for arriving last since there are no rankings 🏁. Moreover, so you can organize yourself according to your schedule, the start of the "Randolinette" can be taken between 9:30 AM and 10:15 AM ⏰. A race where everyone starts whenever they want is quite colorful 🎨.
But more than the sports courses, what truly makes The Bressol'Line vibrate and creates this unique atmosphere, is its deeply human DNA 🧬. The Line Association initiates a dynamic of solidarity, centered around sharing and benevolence 💖. The presence of "extraordinary" children and their caregivers also makes your commitment and the core activity of the organization more tangible 🎯. You'll see, it's all this positive energy that will boost you at the refreshments! ⚡️
Once the sport, but also the celebration 🥳, cocktails, entertainment, surprises 🎁, and music are behind you, take a breath and extend your regional discoveries 🌿. Around Bressolles, you'll find the Parc des Oiseaux in Villars-les-Dombes 🦜. An unusual and fun outing to enjoy with family or friends. You'll be amazed by the beauty of the 250 species present on site 🤩. Also take advantage of the Bressane countryside and explore the various forest trails before heading home 🎒. If you're coming from far away (like Bordeaux, Rennes or the Listenbourg 🌍), a bit of urban discovery won't hurt. Head to Lyon and its many wonders to continue your stay 🚶♂️. On the agenda: start the morning gently with a walk in the Parc de la Tête d’Or and its Animal Zoo 🦒. Then take the subway (or the tram 🚊, you have the choice) to head to the Old Lyon and discover in turn the Saint-Jean Cathedral 🏛️, the old cobbled streets, and the discrete traboules that add charm to this district 🏘️. If you still have some energy, you can also venture to Croix Rousse or Fourvière for its view over the entire city 🏙️. You'll feel like those birds you previously observed at Villars-les-Dombes, with a wide-angle view of everything happening below 👁️. To end the day beautifully, what better than a snack to share on the banks of the Rhône (or the Saône if you prefer intimacy 🥷), with a lovely sunset in the background? 🌅
Well, regarding the race and the surroundings, we've already given you a good summary ✍️. Next, it's up to you to add your line to the story 📖.
Organizer's message:
"This year, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Bressol'Line. Many surprises and animations are planned. Catering is possible on site, with homemade burgers and pan bagnat (reservable on the registration site)."
Here it is, the black beast pink of the Bressol'Line! 👹
Reserved for runners over 18 years old 🔞, the course plunges you into the darkest wooded areas of the sector. It's not impossible for you to encounter some peculiar creatures 🧌. You'll seamlessly navigate the ascents and descents on the local forest trails. The elevation of 248 mD+ will be enough to heat up your thighs and make you regret the paved and smooth semi-marathons 😝.
Your eyes won't be lacking beautiful views, with passages near traditional farms and fairly wide vantage points over the surrounding countryside 🌾. On your path, you should also come across two refreshment points that will help you stay on course to the finish line (and its famous final refreshment station 🥸).
12 kilometers, keep in mind it's 12 x 1 km. And 1 km goes by pretty quickly, doesn't it? 🤔 So, no stress, this trail will go smoothly 👟.
This intermediate race features 2 km more than its 10 km counterpart. You can add some intensity without diving into a multi-hour race ✅. As for the paths you'll encounter, it will alternate between paved roads and forest trails 🌳. Open to those 16 and older, it could pit newcomers against veterans ⚔️.
The few 153 mD+ of ascent will also require some ease with climbs 🤪. In case you run out of energy, a refreshment stand is available halfway so you can get back up to speed 🏎️..
A format that will undoubtedly appeal to our walking lovers 🥾.
The course consists of a 12 km loop (with very little elevation 😮💨) to be completed without any time limit or stopwatch ⏳. You can fully enjoy the scenery and the moment without worrying about your ranking at the finish.
For this event, the start is at 9 a.m. sharp at the Bressolles multipurpose hall 📣. Just like your fellow runners, you'll alternate between farm paths and shaded trails in the forest. A refreshment point will be patiently waiting for you halfway through the course 🍽️, with drinks and treats begging to be devoured 🤤. We're counting on you to take care of it!
If the other two trails on offer intimidate you, don't worry! The 10 km trail is to be done at your own pace, without any time pressure 😉.
Remember, the goal here is to share and enjoy, not to perform 🤙. It's the perfect route for a first-time experience in nature or simply to try out the discipline. You might have a few aches at the end of the morning, but hey, that's part of the game ♟️. The elevation gain is quite low (106 mD+ for 10 km), which will allow you to tackle the hills over time while maintaining a decent pace 🏃.
Enjoy the June sun to warm your legs, your face, and your heart ❤️.
Just like the 12 km hike, the route consists of a single loop: no retracing your steps ❌. Here, we move forward! ➡️
This second walking event starts at 9:30 am, and takes you on trails that are not very technical and accessible ✅. The course is really designed to be covered with family or with friends, and to gently energize your Sunday morning 😋. If you're looking to break records rather than peacefully wake up to the sound of the wind, consider the other races offered ✌️.
And because the organizers think of everything (especially your stomach) 💭, a small solid and liquid refreshment awaits you on the way for a strategic break 😎.
The perfect family route is the Randolinette 🙃. Even the name is too cute!
With a departure time ranging between 9:30 am and 10:15 am, there's no need to rush to get into the starting blocks 💨. The youngest can take their time waking up gently ☁️. On this route, they are the real champions, so we must take care of them 😌. The course includes a fun 4 km loop as well as liquid and solid refreshments 🍴. And it is even possible that surprises await you on the way 👀. However, since it's a surprise, we can't tell you more 🙄. You'll have to go there to find out the end of this story 🎁.
