Want to push your limits in an exceptional natural setting? 🏞️ The Forges of the Anlier Forest are made for you! Located in the southeast of Belgium 🇧🇪, in Habay-la-Neuve in the Walloon region, this race takes you to discover the charms of the Luxembourg department, located on the border of the Grand Duchy of the same name 🤓. With 95% of the course in forest 🌲, expect a big breath of fresh air 🌬️, you will come back oxygenated. Both literally and figuratively, given the festive 🥳 nature of the event.
Three trail distances are offered during this June Saturday: "Les Mini-Forges" (7 km), "Le 14 km des Forges" (14 km) or "Les Forges" (21 km). Three discovery trail races under the sign of fun 🤪, with participants who love to dress up 🎭 and a course dotted with animations 🎶🎶... and local beers 🍺 to taste (in moderation of course) at the various refreshment stations 😁. For those who prefer to enjoy the atmosphere 👯♂️, a walk is also organized, with on-site registrations 🥾. So don't arrive too late to make sure you get a bib for this splendid adventure 🦸. Will you aim for performance on the wooded trails 🪵 or the best costume contest? 🤔 Or both? 😝 The Anlier forest is one of the largest forested areas in the Belgian Ardennes and offers, in the "flat country", quite a few reliefs ⛰️. Thus, the 21 km imposes 450 mD+ on its runners 🏃, the 14 km, 373 mD+ and finally the 7 km, 150 mD+. Its winding trails between deciduous and coniferous trees form a true paradise for runners 🤗. The fauna is rich in this privileged area, keep your eyes open 👀.
Before, during, and after the race, enjoy the warm Belgian atmosphere! 🎉 If you haven't done it during your race, you can celebrate your performance with a good local beer 🍻 while working on your Belgian vocabulary 📚. Save some time to explore the area: how about visiting the Bouillon Castle-fort 🏰 or the old town of Durbuy? The village of Roche-en-Ardenne is also really charming 🥰, with its village surrounded by hills and trees 🏘️. The territory around the race is really very green and refreshing, you won't regret the Forges. Or rather, you'll want to come back right away! 😜
If you're more ambitious (after all, it's not every day you get the chance to go to Belgium), then head to Brussels or Bruges, two wonderful big cities 🤩, cultural treasures of northern Europe 🌍. Closer to Habay-la-Neuve, Liège is also a very nice destination, with its rich medieval heritage ⚔️.
So, ready to break your records ⏱️ on one of the courses of the Forges of the Anlier Forest? 😉
Message from the organizer:
"The Forges of the Anlier Forest is a race designed and organized by a club of runners, for other runners."
Let's go for a loop of 21 km starting from Habay-la-Neuve. 95% of this lovely route is under the trees of the Anlier forest 🌲.
You will first follow the traces of the Rocaille stream before finding the Rulles and reaching the hermitage road, 10 km north of the town of Habay. You will then be halfway through the route, notable for its small ascending and descending trails. In total, you will have accomplished 450 meters of positive elevation. Festive refreshments will punctuate your route 🍻.
On the way back, you will go along the Fabrique pond and then the Rulles again, before your triumphant and masked 🎭 arrival in Habay-la-Neuve, in front of a cheering crowd 🥳.
The "14 km of the Forges" is the latest addition to the event, starting from Habay-la-Neuve! 😍 A 14 km route in the heart of nature 🌳, where 95% of the course takes place in a large forest bordered by beech trees that will keep participants cool 🌡️. The runners will also encounter the Rulles, which will be present along a large part of the route! 💧
At the end, you'll need to save some energy for a final climb up the stairs, and you will finally be finishers 🪜, well done 🎖️. Don't forget to keep your smile throughout this festive and costumed event where good vibes will prevail! 🥳
The runners of the 7 km follow the beginning of the 20 km course.
The start is rather smooth in the city before tackling the forest and its wooded trails 🪵. After crossing the Rulles and passing the stadium, you indeed enter the forest of Anlier. Enjoy the fresh air and scents. You will reach the Fabrique pond before skirting that of the Bridge of Oye. It's there that you can observe the castle of the same name 🏰. In this distinctly very nature race, you will finally reach the Châtelet pond, before the famous stair climb, just before the finish 🏁.
The finish will be celebrated appropriately, in the spirit of sharing 🤗.
