The event in a few words

How about a little time travel to our Neanderthal ancestors Neanderthals? 🧌 We promise, even the scenery will be there to immerse you 🏞️. In the Ardèche Gorges, your next challenge is launched, at the center of Vallon-Pont-D’Arc. The Neanderthal of Pont d’arc is the perfect weekend to liven up your month of May 🌻. HOP HOP HOP, we stop you right there, no fuss, given the program, you have a lot of choices and quite a few 📋. Between trail running, MTB, or both: Bike & Run, timed or non-timed, electric or tough, the most complicated part will be choosing the best option 🚴. Wild and rugged, we're talking about the Ardèche trails that will surprise you, not the wild boar you might encounter 🐗. This adventure over two consecutive days will immerse you in demanding routes 😰, but with unique panoramas 🤩. Let us introduce this madness to you:

On Saturday, 5 MTB races and 1 VT'Trail will take place on the schedule 🗓️. Those ready to set a blazing time will be delighted, the day begins with them ⏱️. 3 timed races will start 🏁, with 41 km and 1,400mD+, this course will have two different formats. First up: the "Neanderthal E-bike," yes, we're not at the Tour de France 🚲, here electric bikes are allowed! 😁 So keep the lies at home and everyone will have a little help under the arm 😉. A few minutes later, the "Neanderthal muscular" will start, right behind their fellow participants 👌. And since kids always want to do like adults, they will also have their own tracks 🚴. The "VT’Trail kids" will offer them various programs, combining trail running and MTB! 🏃‍♀️ Now it's time for the enthusiasts, who will have 3 non-timed events with a MTB or a E-bike 🧘‍♀️. The "demanding Neanderthal" will kick off, with the same 41 km and 1,400 mD+, but in a chill version 🧚. Following that, the "Medium Neanderthal," offering 34 km with 1,000 mD+. The day will end with the "discovery Neanderthal" for 20 km of race and 500 mD+ 📈.

On Sunday, no rest or sleeping in, but rather new challenges 🔥. From 8:30 a.m., the 27 km trail will start. With 1,100mD+ this race will be a wonderful wake-up to end the week ✨. Besides being the main event of the weekend, it's a qualifying race for UTMB® Index 20K, how classy! 😎 If not, you can continue your slumber and start a bit later for 11 km and 400 mD+ 💥. We end with a flourish, with a truly complete concept: the "VT’Trail Adults". It offers you to run 10 km on 400 mD+ and follow up with 17 km of MTB on 400 mD+ as well 🚵‍♀️. For more fun, you can also do this format in duo! 👯

With such a landscape, Ardèche will make you want to stay longer 🤩. Such a change of scenery doesn't happen every day. The Ardèche Gorges are filled with pleasant walks and trails 😌. A breath of fresh (and also unpolluted) air is always good 🍃. Then, might as well push the envelope and take a true trip back in time! ⏮️ In just 7 minutes, you can go back to the Paleolithic 🪵. The Chauvet Cave, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a cave adorned with thousands of paintings, dating back thousands of years 🖼️. A visit to these artworks is a must. But stopping there would be a grave mistake ❌. Don't leave this department without tasting the crique, the picodon, or even the Ardèche chestnuts 🌰. You'll thank us later 👐.

As you've understood, for this weekend, you have plenty to do, all that's left is to secure your race bib and your bag! 🎟️

5 reasons to join this race

An almost empty department 👀
Fun fact: the Ardèche is the only French mainland department without a highway, railway, or airport! 😳 Yes, it makes it a very green department. But well, if you’re in a hurry, better not go through the Ardèche 🤣.
The mini French canyon 🇫🇷
A little geographic point about the Ardèche Gorges 📍. This canyon is located between Vallon-Pont-d’Arc and Saint-Martin d'Ardèche and is 32 km long. With its cliffs, scrublands, and viewpoints, it is one of the most beautiful in Europe 😍. And beware, you better pay attention to your surroundings, because it's classified as a protected nature reserve! 🙂‍↔️
What is the Pont d'Arc 🤔
Yes, this shape is quite strange indeed. With its 54 m height and 60 m width, for all geologists, it's a real curiosity ✅. This arch was formed naturally, thanks to water erosion on the rock 💦. Moreover, historically, this bridge was also the pedestrian passage for our ancestors to cross this river without getting their feet wet! 🦶
A complete event 🏃‍♀️
You read this large list correctly, there are many different races 📋. With all these formats, there's something for everyone 😄. You have timed and non-timed, electric and non-electric, running, cycling, or even both! Frankly, you have no excuse 🔥.
A magnificent landscape 💐
The department of Ardèche is well-known for having a beautiful landscape 😻. And for this race, you'll have the chance to discover it while doing sports. The viewpoints, fauna, and flora of the region will surely make a mark on your mind! 💭

Message from the organizer:

"Bring out the animal skins or swimsuits 😉."
