Ready to get your cardio going for a good cause? 🐕
The last weekend of May, we’re heading to the Hauts-de-Seine for the SPA Relay. If you were hoping to pull out your rocket kit to chase a world record and finish with burning lungs, you’ve come to the wrong place: here, the event is completely non-timed 😎. We run in the majestic setting of the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud for a cause with some bite 🦴: filling shelter bowls, funding veterinary care, and saying a firm “no” to abandonment ❌. We forget the pressure of results to focus on what matters: helping our animal friends ❤️🩹.
Out on the course, it’s full free pace mode. Whether you’re lined up for the Canicross 5 km, the 10 km individual race or the relay 2 x 5 km, we truly couldn’t care less whether you run like a gazelle 🦌 or walk like a penguin the day after a party 🐧. What matters is turning your sweat into hope 🤲. It’s the perfect chance to prove your stamina is better than an English Bulldog facing a staircase, or that you’ve got more determination than a Beagle who’s spotted a piece of cheese. We’re here for the vibes, the smiles, and the “Woof” of encouragement echoing through the avenues 🐶, far from the tyranny of your watch’s “beep-beep” that usually judges you ⌚.
Don’t forget the little detail that makes you a true superhero 🦸: your bib isn’t just a piece of paper—it’s a solidarity trophy. You must have completed your fundraising (between €200 and €300 depending on your format) 5 days before the race to earn the honor of starting 💰. The event village will be a hive of positive vibes with advice on responsible adoption and activities for the whole crew. It’s time to show that the running community has a heart bigger than the Domaine itself.
So, are you coming to show us your best calves, or are you staying on the couch to take a nap with the cat? 🐈
A word from the organizer:
"In the heart of the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud (92), the association invites participants to symbolically take up, for one day, the relay from the shelters to protect animals. A great opportunity to support the SPA and celebrate all our four-legged companions! 🐾 All year long, SPA teams go above and beyond to help nearly 44,000 abandoned and abused animals. What if, for one day, you took over the relay? By raising funds to take the start, each participant will save abandoned and abused animals."
The bib will be handed out on Sunday, May 31, 2026 directly at the SPA Relay village from 8:00 a.m. Please note: bib distribution is contingent on you reaching your fundraising goal before Monday, May 25, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
The event will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud. Starts will be according to the following schedule:
Canicross 5 km: 9:00 a.m.
Main 10 km race: 10:00 a.m.
Relay 2 x 5 km: 10:30 a.m.
The SPA Relay is a friendly, non-timed event. As such, the rules do not mention any obligation to provide a medical certificate or a Health Prevention Pathway (PPS). By registering, however, you declare that you have the physical and medical condition required to complete the chosen course.
The minimum required age depends on the race format chosen:
10 km individual race: you must be at least 16 on the day of the event.
Relay race 2 x 5 km: you must be at least 14 on the day of the event.
Canicross 5 km: this format is reserved exclusively for adults (18 on race day).
Participation involves paying a registration fee as well as completing a minimum fundraising effort for the benefit of the SPA:
Canicross 5 km: €15 registration fee and €200 minimum fundraising (i.e. €68 after tax deduction).
10 km individual race: €15 registration fee and €200 minimum fundraising (i.e. €68 after tax deduction).
Relay race 2 x 5 km: €30 registration fee per pair and €300 minimum fundraising per pair (i.e. €102 after tax deduction).
Water and refreshment points will be set up along the course or at the finish depending on the format to ensure your hydration and physical condition. For Canicross, specific water and refreshment points for dogs will also be set up.
There will be water, dried fruit, biscuits and fruit jellies. Participants are invited to bring a water bottle so they can use the free water fountains in the race village.
The organization imposes strict rules regarding equipment, especially for Canicross:
For your dog: mandatory use of a harness adapted to its morphology and to pulling, as well as a leash or line with a shock absorber of 2 meters maximum when extended.
For you: a canicross belt or abdominal belt is required for Canicross.
Prohibitions: the use of cross-country shoes fitted with metal studs is strictly forbidden for all races. Choke, electric or spiked collars are also prohibited for dogs.
Recommendations: it is recommended to bring walking or running shoes, a water bottle, energy bars and a small backpack.
