Who run the world! Girlssss! 💪
Beyoncé warned us, all women are expected for a crazy race! ⚡️ Come show your strength and female power at Tjejmilen Stockholm! 💝 This time, we're taking you to a tour of Scandinavia and more precisely to Stockholm! 📍 Located in the Svealand region, this event is more than just a simple competition: it's one of the largest women-only running races in all of Sweden 🇸🇪. The event takes place at the beginning of September, when the Indian summer begins to emerge in the capital's parks 💐. You understand that it's the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself with friends or solo, without the usual time constraints ⏱️.
Because nothing is done halfway, the course is a real postcard urban on 10 km 🌆. The "Girl’s Miles", aka the "banana", will immerse you in a real field of fruits 😮. Haha, hard to believe, but on your route, you'll encounter human-sized bananas, who will cheer you on and supply you, of course, with bananas 🍌. And then, smart, smart, the organization had a great idea to offer a shortcut. Perfect to allow those who prefer to run a little less and do a 6 km 🏃♀️. Both routes are linked and focus on Djurgården island, a real green lung in the heart of the city. 🌳.
There, the atmosphere is THE strong point of the race. We're talking about thousands of participants all ready to run together. 🌊 In other figures, hundreds of volunteers are mobilized to cheer you on and ensure thematic refreshments (like those disguised as bananas 🙈). Throughout the 10 km but also the 6 km, the organization plans: orchestras, DJs, encouragement zones... 🎊 In short, everything to give you an amazing energy. 🎶 After the finish line, no, no it's not over. The party continues with entertainment, partner stands, and a championship atmosphere 👑.
If you want to extend the experience beyond the race number, take advantage of being there to explore the surroundings with your loved ones 🫂. Stockholm, "the Venice of the North" is a city of water and culture 💦. You can visit the famous Vasa museum, which houses a perfectly preserved 17th-century ship, or indulge in adrenaline at the Gröna Lund amusement park 🎡. Since calm is never hated, we also suggest a visit to Skansen, the world's oldest open-air museum 😳. And let's not forget, the final refreshment is also to be arranged! 🍝 The Köttbullar, or: meatballs with sauce, mashed potatoes, peas, and jam, does that ring a bell? 🍲 Well, yes, it's IKEA's flagship dish, but that's not for nothing 🙃. It's one of the most typical dishes of the city, providing a hearty refuel! 😋
Whether you want to beat your personal record, take on your first challenge, or even go for a chill jog, you are WELCOME ☀️. So, have you booked your tickets to Stockholm? 🇸🇪
The start of this 10 km takes place in the southern sector of Djurgården, a vast area that allows for a calm start 🧘♀️. The route takes you on a complete tour of the island, along the shores of the canal of Djurgårdsbrunnskanalen 🌊. Ah, that name won't come up every day 🤣. In this area, you also cross beautiful wooded passages, with two refreshment points between km 2 and 5 🍎.
After completing km 5 you change islands, quickly heading to Gamla Stan, followed by a refreshment after km 7 at Kungsträdgården 📍. The grand finale brings you back to the heart of the event for a triumphant finish amidst applause 👏.
This distance follows the same route as the main 10 km course, but offers an alternative to reduce the effort. 🔄 You enjoy all the village atmosphere at the start and the first few festive kilometers 🥳. Instead of doing the large loop towards the eastern end of Djurgården Island, you turn to reach the finish area more quickly 🏁. After 2 refreshment stops, between km 2 and 5, you do not continue west but head towards the city center 🏙️.
You won't miss any of the most beautiful forest passages and the energy of the spectators lined up along the barriers. It's a perfect dose of scenery concentrated over a shorter distance! 💛
You can collect your race bib at the Expo in Kungsträdgården.
