The Trail de la Roque is THE event not to be missed if you love nature and the great outdoors 🏞️. And no, despite its name, Michèle Laroque has nothing to do with it... 👱♀️ But if she were here, she'd surely tell you that this trail, it's a big spectacle! 🎭 Head to Saint-Sériès, a charming village in Hérault in region Occitania, for a race where each step brings you closer to the Roque de Saint-Sériès 🪨.
With 4 courses suitable for all levels, you're sure to find a distance to your liking 🫦. If you're the type to love great challenges 💥, the "Semi de la Roque" is for you! With its 400 mD+, it's a demanding course that will take you through woods, vineyards, and garrigue. After starting from Saint-Sériès, you'll have just one kilometer to find your pace before entering the first single tracks 🌳. The first 5 kilometers are technical, so keep your eyes open, because between stones, roots, and capricious reliefs, it's a playground for seasoned trail runners 💪. If a half-marathon seems a bit much 🥵, the "Via Tolosana" offers a nice alternative with 12 km and 280 mD+ 🤪. The younger sibling of the semi shares 95% of the same course. This trail retains all the charm of the big race but in a more accessible and equally immersive version 😎. If you want to experience the joy of trail running without too much hassle, this is the format for you 🫵. And if you prefer short distances 🤏, then the "ROQ Sprint" is the ideal shot of adrenaline! ⚡️ With 5 km and 90 mD+, it's a small excursion into the garrigue, without the most technical parts of the course 📈. It's an opportunity to challenge yourself, have fun, and get a taste of the magic of trail running (to then fall in love with the discipline and go crazy 😈). But the Trail de la Roque is not just about running, it's also an adventure to be savored slowly with a hike of 10 km and 200 mD+. Here, no stopwatch ⏰, no pressure, just pleasure and sublime landscapes 🧘♂️. And above all... a well-deserved barbecue and beer at the finish! 🍖 To be consumed in moderation, of course 😌.
After the race, the program doesn't end there ❌. Because Saint-Sériès is not only a playground for trail runners, it's also an ideal starting point to explore Occitania 🕵️♂️. Why not extend your stay and visit Montpellier, just a few kilometers away, to wander around the Place de la Comédie and enjoy a good tielle sétoise? 🥧 Or go discover the Camargue, with its pink flamingos 🦩 and herds of bulls? 🐂 And if the race has whetted your appetite 😋, why not satisfy it with local specialties: cassoulet, taureau gardiane, or a good garbure, the southwest soup so hearty you'll roll back home 😋.
One thing is certain: the trails, the atmosphere, and the flavors of Occitania await you! 🏃♂️
The one and only trail half-marathon trail in the Lunel region! After starting from the village park, you have a kilometer to position yourself before diving into the first wooded single track. Then, on to the descent through the vineyards, heading towards the banks of the Vidourle, where you can admire the Roque de Saint-Sériès 🪨… but not for too long, as the next 5 kilometers are ultra-technical 💥. Between stones, roots, and relaunches, you'll need to stay very focused 👀! Once you’ve passed this part, you'll be able to catch your breath a little on the ridges before continuing on the single tracks of La Cible. Then, at the 17th km, it's time for the final sprint: a rolling downhill section that brings you back to Saint-Sériès ⚡️, where a festive finish under the trees of the park awaits you 🌳. And of course, a good barbecue and a nice cold beer to reward you 🍖!
Do you want a real trail, but without committing to 21 km of suffering? 🥵 The "Via Tolosana" is made for you! 🔥 It covers 95% of the half-marathon course, while staying on the side of Saint-Sériès and Saturargues. You will enjoy the same splendid landscapes 🏞️, playful single tracks, and the magic of the banks of the Vidourle 🌿. With 280 mD+, it's a perfect balance between effort 💪 and pleasure 🤤, with nice rolling sections and some technical boosts to spice up the race 🌶️.
Looking for an adrenaline rush without blowing out your legs? 💥 The "ROQ Sprint" is an express course, ideal for discovering the garrigue without venturing onto too technical terrains 🌿. 5 km, just enough to feel the magic of trail running, without risking ending up in PLS at the finish 🤪. It’s also the perfect format for those who want to challenge themselves on a short distance before moving on to longer ones! 😍
Don't feel like running? 🥴 No problem! The organization offers a hike of 10 km. It’s a great way to enjoy the trails without a stopwatch and without pressure 🧘♂️. You'll follow a large part of the Via Tolosana route, but without the loop on the side of Villetelle. This route is ideal for a sporty walk, alone 🧍♂️, with family 👨👩👦👦, or with friends 👯♂️, surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the Pays de Lunel 🌞.
