The event in a few words

It's time to bare your claws on the volcano! 🌋The Transgrancanaria, a true monument of the global trail, awaits you in the province of Las Palmas, at the heart of the Canary Islands. For this edition, the organization is not holding back: no less than 8 events span over an intense week in February, attracting more than 4,600 runners. Here, it's not just about running, but an epic crossing that takes you from sea level to rugged peaks in the blink of an eye. The main event, the Classic, challenges you with 125 km and a massive 6,800 mD+, while the Advanced offers 81 km for 4,300 mD+.

The course is a pure volcanic experience: technical, rugged, and unpredictable 📉. You will tread ancient paths, cross dense pine forests, and face dizzying ridges. Did you know that Gran Canaria is nicknamed the "miniature continent"? In a few kilometers, you transition from a humid tropical climate to the arid desert.

The atmosphere? It's electric, especially during the mythical night start on the beach of Las Canteras in Las Palmas. Between the drums, the cheers of the locals, and the 600 volunteers taking care of you, you'll never be alone. Aid stations are real parties where you're boosted before tackling the toughest sections, like the climb to Garañón.

For after the race, the island is full of treasures 🏝️. Forget hotel buffets for a moment and set off to explore the Dunes of Maspalomas at sunset or visit the village of Artenara, the highest on the island, with its unique troglodyte houses. If you still have some energy, a family outing to Palmitos Park is a must. As for food, don't leave without trying papas arrugás with their mojo sauce, the local fuel par excellence 🥔.
